Seems to me you're quite good at it! That picture of the bird in flight is AMAZING! It is some type of what here we call a Swallow. The other bird, I don't think we have? It looks kind of like a Chickadee, but they aren't yellow and don't have the wing bars. As to the topical treatment... I really don't know what to suggest. We've only ever been able to apply it to ferals that trust us enough to eat in their presence, as usually we can be quick enough to spread the fur at the base of the neck and pop the liquid on there.
Did they have the Stronghold applied at the vet when neutered? The fleas and ear mites, if they had them, should be gone without another application right? So the treatment would be for internal parasites?
It might be easier to get an oral treatment from the vet, and maybe they'd eat it in a treat? Of course you'd have to control who got which treats then...
