My mother became the caregiver of a 2 week old black boy kitten last week.
He went poo on Thursday then no more. Monday mom took him to vet, they gave him some type of laxative medicine to take for 5 days.
Still no poo by Wednesday so back to vet. Gave him a enema and said that should do it. Sent mom Hissy's kitten rescue link. At 4am he finally went poo! Yippee! Then again today about an hour ago.
Mom said the rubbing in a circular pattern seemed to have done the trick. That's the method she used this morning. No one else had told us to do that. Warm water, stimulation, rubbing tummy, yes, but not this way. Thanks Hissy! I was so worried. That seemed like way too long without a BM. He eats very well. All that going in needed to be coming out at some point.
He is now 3 weeks old and adorable as can be. We call him Thor
Tried taking photos but he's just a little black blob in them
(hope this all makes sense - at work and typing fast!)
