I am a first time cat well kitten mom.
On Tuesday October 30 I got a call from a friend. She said, "I found this adorable kitten on our back porch" Her husband said, "no more" as they have 3 cats, a dog, a python, and 7 rats already. So she tells me, "I think you need something cuddly in your life". I grew up in a home with dogs, and with a mother who doesn't care for cats. As I've gotten older and spent more time around them I've realized how loving they are (much more so than the cocker spaniel my parents have). So my husband agreed to bringing the kitten home.
He had fleas, worms but was negative for feline leukemia! The vet says he's around 11 weeks old.
He is flea free and using the litter box consistently like a champ! He spends the majority of his time in our half bathroom until we adjust him to the house. The last 3 days he has had the chance to explore the downstairs--with supervision. He is showing normal kitten behavior--we thought he would get into more but he's pretty good. Only issues thus far is scratching the couch.
Favorite activities currently--crying to daddy so he'll pick him up, as well as sitting (front paws in the air) on the end table next to the turtle/fish aquarium--kept his attention for 30 straight minutes.
