    How to Stop Night Scratching

I'm with you! Thanks for bringing up the topic! We tried the double stick tape thing and Sam seemed to scratch around it. I'd be interested to know what everyone has used too.

    Frodo and his icky tail

Those are both good ideas. I think we've got some wipes so I'll try that first. So do you think there's anything health-related wrong with Frodo if his hair is falling out on his tail as well?

2 month old kitten HELP PLEASE

Fuggle, my little 10 week old, does the exact same thing. He's way into attacking hands and feet. Like other posts on this board say, we just stop paying attention to him when he does that. We also got him one of those plush dachshunds from Petco (you know the one in the commercial?) - it's...

Can cats tell if your sad?

My oldest boys always know when Mommy's down. In fact, Sam, who never used to be a lap cat, turned in to one when my husband left for Iraq (twice). Now whenever he hears me cry, he's there in a hurry. What a sweetie!

    Your cat's endearing/odd/other behavior(s)

I've taught my boys to talk to me..my husband would say, too much. They all know their names and will come when called (except for baby Fuggle, but he's only 10 weeks old). Of course, they all know the words "eat" and "hungry" and "food" and let us know when dinner time is! The cutest thing...

    Frodo and his icky tail

Frodo, God bless him, doesn't really like to groom himself. He's a big boy (big boned, not pudgy) so maybe it's a contortionist issue. His tail is just unreal. It's just so dirty and brown, pretty much the entire length of it. The skin is really oily. My husband tried brushing it the other...

My cat has really greasy hair

Wow - someone else has this problem! Frodo, who is a biggish boy, and white, just can't stand to groom himself (maybe can't reach all the way around?). His fur is pretty greasy but his tail is just nasty! He eats IAMS and has never had any other health problems, but the hair on his tail is so...

    130 cats in a two-room apartment

Her behavior is creepy, to say the least, but...I no longer feel bad about having 4 cats in my smallish 3-bedroom house! That did it! I find myself watching the various cop shows on Animal Planet, and I've seen some horrifying places on there...it looked cleaner but how could you ever tell...

just how many is TOO many?

Well, Frodo and Sam are totally bonded, but Buckaroo was the odd man out. Now, we didn't really plan on getting a fourth, but you know how these things happen... The hope is that Buckaroo might bond with Fuggle and they can play, because the two brothers weren't having anything to do with...

just how many is TOO many?

We don't have a mansion, but there's room enough for everyone to hide on me whenever they smell a vet visit coming. And we can afford it, as we have no human children of our own. Thanks, y'all, I feel much better about this! I'm a big softie, I guess.

just how many is TOO many?

The title sounds kinda menacing, but...okay. We are owned by three lovely kitties, Frodo, Samwise, and Buckaroo. Frodo and Sam are brothers and they were "here first", so to speak, and they're about 3 years old. About 6 months ago, we rescued a youngster, Buckaroo, and he's now about a little...

Just what exactly is considered overweight?

I took my two white cats in to the vet for their annual visit yesterday, and I wanted a second (and third and fourth...) opinion on something. Mind you, my boys are BIG, not FAT, and I believe there's a slight difference. Frodo weighs in at 16 lbs. and his brother Samwise tips the scales at...

If oyu point at something, does your cat look where you are pointing or your finger?

My cats are very un-savvy: they are extremely stubborn in their notion that the thing you wanted their attention on is always your finger, not the spider you'd like them to kill for you!

    What's your absolute favorite perfume?

I wore Beautiful by Estee Lauder for almost 10 years...then abruptly switched to Euphoria, Calvin Klein, just due to a smelling a sample in the mail! Of course, I did this while my hubbie was away...he came home and I didn't smell like me! But it's really yummy.

    Anyone else have bag-chewers?

I have a bag licker. Sam is in love with trash bags. I try to stuff the excess plastic up into the lid so he doesn't go after it. So annoying, though. He's never tried to eat them, thank goodness. Just smooches them.

Would it be really bad if..

Don't feel guilty! I have never let my two in my bedroom. They have the run of the rest of the house. I have hair issues and slight allergies too, so it's just best that they don't go in the room I sleep in. Do they want in there with Mommy? Sure they do! But rules are rules. And they...

    What is your religious background?

Not to be punny, but AMEN! I'm Catholic, but I've been lucky enough to go to churches that don't have politician-priests. I'm all about letting everyone believe what they want, as long as they don't force it on me!

    Bumper Sticker/Car Magnets/Decals

I have a goodly number on my car, though they're all the glass decal kind. I won't put any stickers on my actual bumper. 1. Loyola University New Orleans sticker 2. San Diego Zoo member 3. A blue star flag (The "Son in Service" flag, though it aplies to all loved ones at war) 4. Semper Fi...
