    Watching my baby die..

Yes I took him to the vet on several occasions, had blood work done, etc., in the last couple of years. The vet told me that there was nothing gravely wrong with him at the time, he said that he was getting very old for a cat and it was essentially a matter of time.

    Watching my baby die..

I took him to the vet and had him put down on Monday (and on my birthday, no less). It broke my heart to do it but I was with him in the end. As the vet was giving injecting him, the last words he ever heard were me telling him over and over again how much I loved him. Then I cried like a little...

    Watching my baby die..

I've had my cat ("Carrots) for over 19 years now (as of a couple of weeks ago). When I found him and took him home he was (by my best guess) about 10 weeks old or so. That was around the 4th of July, 2003. Although he was a "fat cat" for many years, within the last couple of years he started...

    Litter Box Trouble

My cat is 16 1/2 years old and this behavior has just come on the last few months. I've tried several different brands of litter and nothing seems to help. He just pees or poops, hops out and frolics away. Suffice it to say it's really annoying when he poops because the odor is just plain...

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

Well I made an appointment to take him to the vet for blood work & any other tests to find out what might be wrong. An hour before his appointment time he darted out the door and I haven't seen him since. I pray that he comes back so I can take him to the vet. I'm really worried about him. Any...

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

OK I put some Revolution on him. After a couple of days he started to perk up again. Between that and putting him back on the indoor formula cat food he seems to be doing a lot better. He still sleeps a lot (always has), but he's coming to bed with me at night plus he responds to the words...

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

I bought some Revolution for him and he seems to be doing better. He still struggles a little in his litterbox but not nearly as bad as before. I'm hoping he continues to improve. If not I'll have to take him to the vet. If I take him in and have bloodwork done it'll cost close to $100. I'm on a...

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

Thanks for the suggestions. I have some chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) in my freezer. I'll thaw one out and boil part of it down and see if that helps. In lieu of it not working I'll take him to the vet.

He's Eating His Own Poop! Why???

I just caught my cat eating his own feces, which is something he's never done before. He is 15 years old and has always been a healthy (albeit a bit overweight) all of his life. Within the past year or so he has gotten much thinner which I had attributed to his age. Within the last two or...

    Remembering my Little Girl... "Patches"

Thanks everyone for the condolences.  I appreciate it. Last night I dreamed about her - maybe because I had written my little eulogy for her.  It was so vivid.  I dreamed she came up to me in bed and started giving me kisses again.  It was surreal.  So much so that it woke me up excitedly -...

    Remembering my Little Girl... "Patches"

This little girl was amazing. She was only a cat, but she was special. She had her quirks and smiles. Actually they weren't her smiles, they were mine - because she gave them to me. She was a tiny little thing.  She loved cat food. My big 12 year old PHAT cat (“Carrots”) loves kitten...

Should I bring this kitten in or leave to stay out with the mother?

Gosh they sure can.  I got so immersed in her.  She had a personality like no other.

Should I bring this kitten in or leave to stay out with the mother?

They're doing well.  Suzie Q is a happy little porch cat.   She lays around like a rug most of the time. But if I sit down outside she wants on my lap.   She's very affectionate and loves to eat!   Carrots is enjoying being Top Cat again.   He wants on my lap constantly, but I don't mind.  ...

Should I bring this kitten in or leave to stay out with the mother?

I know it's not my fault.  It just feels like it is.  I posted the story about her along with a lot of pictures on my FB page and my landlady saw them and you know what she said? "So sorry Bob..there are more fur babies that need your love out there!" That made me feel good.  Like maybe I...
