    Managing cwt in pain

Sadly all the other vets around here are oversubscribed. This is actually one of the best ones

    Managing cwt in pain

They’ve given her gabapentin and buponorphine. She was already taking metacam. She’s got hip dysplasia so they clearly think it’s that. But they can’t just expect her to be in pain for two weeks. She’s not sleeping

    Managing cwt in pain

She’s in pain and I don’t know what to do. The vets can’t X-ray her until the 11th April. She’s just laying around staring and not even sleeping. I’m crying my eyes out as I don’t know how to help her

    Managing cwt in pain

My 16 yr old tux has hurt her back hip and/or back. It was a week ago. We’ve been to the vets twice and are waiting to book her in for an X-ray. She was given buponorphine but she has a strange reaction to it. She stops sleeping and paces the room. But it did seem to ease her pain. Gabapentin...

Cat paces and won’t rest when on painkillers

She’s still like it. The vets just say give her more drugs! She hasn’t slept since Wednesday. I don’t know what to do

Cat paces and won’t rest when on painkillers

Oh she’s definitely getting pain relief. You can just tell she is. Her tail is back up, she’s interesting in food again yet. I did find it can make cats agitated so I think that’s what it’s doing

Cat paces and won’t rest when on painkillers

Thanks. This isn’t gabapentin, it’s just that does it too. This is buprenorphine. I just couldn’t remember the name either. But both do this to her

Cat paces and won’t rest when on painkillers

My poor baby has had a flare up of her arthritis and is on pain killers. Every single time she’s given them or gaberpentin by the vet they tell us she will be sleepy. But every single time she ends up restless, pacing the room back and forth with large pupils. Does anyone else’s cat do that? How...

    What could be wrong?

She went back in at lunchtime. They sedated her to check her out. They found nothing wrong with her tummy or hips (like I thought) but found holes in two of her teeth and her thyroid area was a bit enlarged. She had a blood test and was put in a drip. She’s going in for more fluids tomorrow...

    What could be wrong?

I’m going to call them again today and demand they actually examine her. She’s still pacing up and down with a really heavy plod in her step. The drugs should have warn off by now. This isn’t her normal tummy issues but they just won’t listen

    What could be wrong?

They didn’t want to sedate her due to her age. They said that with the distress she was in, her blood pressure etc would be really high due to that. Even routine checks she has to have some gabapentin first as she isn’t good with vets. My husband and the nurse tried to restrain her. My husband...

    What could be wrong?

Her normal vet seems to think it’s her stomach. They didn’t seem worried to be honest but I am

    What could be wrong?

How do I add video to this? I want to show you all what she’s like

    What could be wrong?

thanks but I made sure my parents in law didn’t have any lillies before I went away
  16. jennielouises

    What could be wrong?

Yeah she’s still eating as normal. Or at least she was until they gave her the pain killer last night. Since then she’s been high as a kite and just pacing up and down the hallway. I’m going to call my vets in a bit. My in laws say she definitely didn’t eat anything etc but they do have a lot of...

    What could be wrong?

Her normal food. Everything was the same except I know they let her outside when not on a leash. Also she apparently jumped on a surface that’s normally too high for her so it’s possible me she may have aggravated her hips. But that doesn’t explain the staring into space in a dazed state

    What could be wrong?

I’ve just returned from holiday and got my 15 yr old Sparky back from my in laws. She’s acting very strangely. She’s staring into space in a stupor, laying with her head out from like she’s depressed but isn’t sleeping, her behaviour has changed (she’s biting and hissing which isn’t like her)...

Thank you. Unfortunately there are no shops open at the moment. I’ll get some on the morning but I need to calm it now
