Hi My elderly cat doesn't scratch anything either, I have tried every scratch mat, toy, and post both vertical and horizontal, I have even demonstrated how to scratch the sofa - she was not interested . Who would have thought that a cat that doesn't scratch the furniture would be a problem...

Making a feral into a housecat

Thank goodness he is ok now! I think your vet should give you a big discount on cost price after being so pushy! But anyway at least he did the surgery. It must be very rewarding that a former feral is so affectionate with you. One of my cats was stray (I think previously owned), she was so...

forcing a cat to remain inside

Lots of cats get scared and aggressive during visits to the vet, it maybe nothing to do with keeping him inside! I wonder if the ratio of pro:against keeping cats inside would differ if you asked the same question on a UK website!

    Cat obsessed with food

Many medical problems can increase a cats apitite, one of my cats is hyperthyroid - before treatment she would constantly be hungry. My other cat had pancreatitis a while back and initially her apitite increased massively she was always begging for food. So a vet trip maybe in order. However if...

New to caring for a stray/feral and second-guessing myself and need some encouragement and support

However I brought the stray in and separated them for a few weeks - I haven't had any fighting, a few hisses at first but that was it. It is now over a year on and although they are not best buds there is no hissing/fighting. They...
