No he hasn't been back. We did talk to some neighbors and they have seen him around. They have had good experiences with him as well and were surprised when I told them. They are going to keep an eye out and monitor any behavior changes and give me a call the next time they see him. In the...
We have a cat that will sometimes show up at our place and hang out. He has always been a nice cat and looked very well cared for. He doesn't have a collar but I had assumed that he may belong to a farm not far away. Any how, today I came home and went to the back of our house and he was...
Thank you both for the responses. I will change his evening meal so that it is later at night and play time will be a little more vigorous. I have a whole bucket of patience for Vin. He is a sweet little guy!
We have a well adjusted kitten that is about 3 months old. His name is Vinny and we LOVE him to pieces. Vinny's mother and sister went to a permanent home (two days ago) where they will be loved and well cared for. We know that it will take Vin a little while to adjust, so we play as much as...
I have three kittens that are 6 1/2 weeks old and all seem to be healthy, playful and happy. I have been offering kitten food and water throughout the day and treating them with kitten milk at night (finishing off a can). Mama is still nursing. Weights are still going up, although some just a...
Okay, here are some weights.
1st kitten born (black) - 191 grams
2nd kitten born (tabby) - 171 grams
3rd and final (white) - 168 grams
2 days old.
Do these numbers sound correct? Hope they are within normal ranges.
What if you take the blanket that they are sleeping on (the one on your bed) and put that on the floor? I guess I am wondering if it could be your scent?
Thoughts?
I should clarify a little bit. When she was younger and would play rough, we would pause and say "easy", and she would comply. But I do agree with you on the playing rough part. We should have nipped it in the bud with a time out or some other technique.
We (hubby and I) use to play with...
Keep Copper and unload the BF. You are going to want to have animals around you, it doesn't matter if it is a bird, dog, cat or a lizard. If your gut is telling you that it was the BF.....well that is good enough for me and should be for you!
I don't know if anyone mentioned this but if I...
We picked up a female spayed kitten about two years ago from the Human Society. We were really careful of picking the kitten with a nice behavior that was playful and interactive. That cat was a gift for our 17 year old son (loves cats).
About two months in, I began to notice that she would...
Update: Checked on Kit Kat this morning and she is frisky, playful and a proud little mama. There is no mess, no blood, no smell and she is eating, drinking and using the litter box. She even came out of the bedroom and played with her buddy the dog for a little bit.
I called the vet to let...
Update: Kit Kat is doing great!!!!!
After my last post, the vet that I had spoken to had called to check on her (this guy is great and I will be spreading the word to everyone in my area.). He said things sounded good and if her condition changed at all to just call. So as the early evening...
I spoke with a veterinarian and explained everything going on. He told me that he wasn't convinced or concerned that there were any kittens left, but if there were and I was going to spay her anyhow that she will be okay until morning. Also, he said that as long as she is using the litter box...
Thank you for the response Willowy. I am waiting for my husband to get home and then we will need to get in to the vet. At this point she has no interest in the kittens, (they are sleeping).
She seems very weak and the bloody plug that is hanging on is beginning to smell.
I haven't seen or...
