although he hates me, I still love him and always fall in love with him, and have happy feelings when I stroke him, so hopefully It's not that but might be something else

He's not normally bothered when I pick him up - just sits there happily, although (understandably) he struggles after long. But he DEFINITELY NOT A LAP CAT! as soon as you put him on your lap he runs off! But I'm still holding him the way I was told, which is the way he is usually comfortable...

ok then, that's good, and anyway, a few cats ARE very slightly overweight - mine is because I baby him too much! I feed him coz he looks at me with those big, beautiful eyes, and meows and nudges me, so I just give in! (Although I shouldn't)

thank you very much rad65! I thought so, but couldnt be sure. I just had to take him away from that cruel owner as soon as I could, and I only just met him then, so I had no choice really. but do you think that his grumpiness can be cured, or no?

ur cat looks pretty healthy judging by the pics btw, and if he LOOKS overweight, its probably his mass of thick fur! lol

if you want him to eat slower, my cat has this special food bowl with ridges on the bottom, so that its harder to catch the food and takes longer. btw its for this purpose! u can order them online (ebay, amozon etc), get 1 from the vets or just go to a pet shop - they sometimes do them

depends on your catz personality but some like - feathers stick with string tied to the end of it, with something dangling off it - good to drag around the floor for them to pounce on wind up pretend animals squeking mice etc bouncy balls string  and yes - toilet rolls! my cat also plays...

ozzy has been grumpy ALL his life , or at least ever since we got him - when he was 1 month old. I absolutely LOVE him, but for some reason, hes always sad - his tails always flicking, its always down, he bites everyone etc. me and my family try REALLY hard with him - feeding him when he wants...

he may have had a fight with another cat, and fallen of a wall or something maybe. therefore, the cat may hav made him scared of everything now
