Exactly 4 months ago, my brother's cat had a litter of kittens. We have 3 of them still living with us, 2 boys and a girl.
Our girl kitten Silver is yowling and acting very.... attention-wanty. Which is unusual for her, she rarely meows and is the most shy of the litter. I am worried that she...
I don't have a scratcher in here yet because it's a room in the process of being overhauled and there's no space, but I will put one in here! That's a good idea. :)
Hehe, our other cats don't go as crazy for treats as Nemo does... but then I'm also thinking it's the same reason small children...
My kitten Nemo has developed a really annoying habit... She likes to spend evenings/nights with me in my room but recently has started shredding cardboard boxes and packing paper I have in here while in the process of redecorating the place and using the boxes for trash/storage.
I won't resort...
This is Ernie and her litter of 8 kittens, who were born on July 28th. This is the last photo I have of all of them together, taken about a week ago.
The kittens seem to be maturing in some ways MUCH faster than Ernie's first litter of 4, and not growing as quickly, even though we've been...
Same time every day. Okay. :)
I tooootally thought nursing=safe too. Like, that makes complete sense in my brain, why would nature not do that? But nature is EVIL sometimes, apparently. :P
We don't have a garage, but the place she's nested is a kind of patio... it's an open space with the...
Also, another question!
Would it be safe to tie some colored string loosely around the kittens' necks so we can tell them apart? That would make it easier to keep track of which ones are which when weighing them...
Ohhhh. Okay. :) We have an old scale used for weighing envelopes to calculate how many stamps were needed to send them. I'll use that. ^_^ Thank you for the information!
Yeah, we didn't know cats could get pregnant again so soon after giving birth, which is why she has a second litter... we...
Our mainecoon boy does this! He used to do it only occasionally, but since we've introduced my kitten into the house as a full-time indoor cat, he does it almost every night, sometimes multiple times, always with the same toy. I call it his "HEY GUYS I CAUGHT A THING!" yowl. I'm pretty sure he's...
I just want to say I love that you have a cat named Tyrion. He's named after the character in the books by George RR Martin, right? I just finished reading Game of Thrones today. ^_^
My kitten Nemo (5 months old) has done this twice in the past 3 days. She seems to be coughing or wheezing. It SEEMS like what our mainecoon does when he has hairballs, but Nemo doesn't cough anything up, she just does that sort of... heavy outward breathing then is fine. Both times she's done...
Regular old brown tabbies! We have two cats who look like the blind cat in this video right now. One of the two is an unspayed female who adopted us as a feral cat and has since been tamed... and given birth. Her first litter had twins whose markings were just like the other cat in that video...
We haven't been weighing them but we do pick them up and give them a quick look-over a couple of times every day. I am pretty sure we COULD get a little kitchen scale to weigh them on. Is there somewhere I can find information about what exactly we should be monitoring when we do that?
Almost 2 weeks after I was convinced Ernie was in the early stages of labor, she FINALLY gave birth to a mindblowing litter of EIGHT.
...GAH!!!
They're all charcoal-black tabbies or black cats except for that one little odd one out, Earl Grey. (Or Lady Grey, if it's a girl, we can't tell yet)...
