Milo is our large muscled cat that WANTED to go outside. he would walk from window to window howling basically 24/7 keeping us up all night.
At one point we had considered taking him to the pound but they would put him down with behavior problems.
He is a VERY smart cat wit hall his claws but...
I'm a little upset this morning.
You see we have had a history with Milo and his needing/wanting to roam outside. When we lived in Madison we would not let him out because of traffic. As you know we were at wits end with his constant howling wanting to go outside. We even put him on Prozac...
I know most of you have never considered Prozac and cats and I was the same way less then a week ago but . . . . . I am 100% sure Milo is happier and not so anxious as he used to be.
We did not take this lightly.
HOWEVER - having squirted a few meds from time to time down his throat I knew the...
WOW - what a total difference. We gave Milo his first 1cc of Prozac (fluesitoid or whatever it was called) and there was immediate results . . . too much in fact.
Milo as staggering around cross eyed and VERY mellow! He was even to blitzed to purr when he loved doing.
After the second day...
I cut and paste this from todays blog.

That is right. Milo the cat has joined the Prozac Nation. With his recent spaying problems and constant howling we took him to the vet and there is nothing physically wrong. The opinion is that with us moving...
If we can get the problems fixed one at a time.
He does not scratch but loves to climb screen doors and windows when he see's a bird.
He wants to go out SO SO badly.
Has anyone had experience with Soft Paws?
We are about at the end of the rope.
We love Milo but have not gotten a full night of sleep for 2 years, HE climbs the screen windows and has no inner voice. Now he is peeing in inappropriate places.
we THINK he might have crystals (he is a male) so they are going to put a ton of fluids...
We are building a new house and knowing from experience Milo does not like change will howl all night . . . for DAYS!!
We are thinking of taking his and his "sister" to the house to roam around for a few hours before we move in (if we can). HOWEVER - being 20 minutes away and knowing they do...
We are thinking of installing a cat door so our cats can go onto our 3 season porch and watch for the chipmonks in the garage in winter.
Are cat's bright enough to learn about the doors??
Any experiance's?
We are goign on a 12-13 day vacation and are boarding our dog. The place has a nice place for cats but is it needed?
We could have a person stop buy once a day to feed and pet our two cats and I have heard that they really dislike new places.
What would be better - a shelter for 2 weks...
Milo has never liked coffee. In fact we have to watch our cups constantly as he will find the coffee cup and knock it on the floor.
We have learned this 4 or 5 times now. In fact if we are drinking a cup he will try to get us to stop by forcefully hitting the cup trying to knock it out of our...
Ever since Milo got out for a night his inner voice has seem to be absent. He would walk around the house at night MEOWing loudly. Window to window. He would get us up early in the morning and would not let us sleep at night.
At first we would try to calm him by cuddling and so forth -...
Milo managed to open the front door and spent the entire night outside. This is the 1st time in his life he was out for mor then 20 seconds.
All the next day he CONSTANTLY was meowing and he woke up at 4:00 and meow meow meow. It drove us INSANE.
Anyone else experiance this?
Milo is like a rooster and about 1/2 hour before sunrise he is going from window to window meowing LOUDLY until we get up.
Is there ANYTHING you can think of that can cure this? We play with him at night and give him all sorts opf love but we think that he just does not have an inner...
Milo will wake up at 3:30 in the morning when the Robins start chirping and wonder around the house MEOWING. Any ideas how to shut him up? He normally woke up about 1/2 hour before sunrise and would sing around the house but geez - 3:30 and he is so freaking loud.
he's about 2 years old...
Milo was WILD last night, running in the kitchen and sliding into chairs, jumping on his perch and tipping it over, climbingthings he should not be and knocking stuff off dressers.
About 10:30 we were in bed and he was in the garbage making a ton of noise. I got up and saw nothing unusual...
In my life with cats it seems that Male cats have a good chance to have problems with their urinary tracts.
Is it a good idea to feed Males wet food? Would a can once a week be enough to get water into their systems or is going on 100% Wet food diet a good idea for Males.
Just thought if you were board you could look at my Trip report site that DJ and I sent on last month.
Milo had to stay at home though.
