I agree. Without the tube she would have been a lot worse off. To put it mildly. She has gotten better since her last check up. Feels fatter and doesn't hide anymore. She continues to munch kibbles, eat wet food, and nap. ;)
Last night after her bedtime feeding Bella vomited up her feeding tube. Ugh. So I had to remove it. I think she'll be ok though the past days she has been eating kibbles and wet food on her own. I hope it's enough. My vets are closed for the long weekend. She has a check up on Wednesday. So...
Check up today. Doing great! She's gained a little weight. Liver enzymes are almost normal! She is still just taking a few bites of food. Will start cyproheptadine tomorrow to increase her appetite.
Still tube feeding. She seems to be ok getting 25ml ( 1ml every 10secs), 4 times a day this controls the gas/gagging. I tried giving more in a day, but she vomited it up. This ends up being almost a 1 can of a/d a day. She is getting better. The yellow in almost gone. She is hiding less. No...
Yeah, I've been going slow. Guess I need to go slower. I tried about 1ml every 10 seconds this morning seems to have helped. She starting to dead the feedings because if the gas she gets. Ugh. But she does look like she is getting better.
Coffee filter didn't work. I found a very fine strainer in the cupboard.Yes! Strained it 3 times. Now it was smoothe, no little particles. 6pm feeding was a success! 40ml in no problem.
Yep, was clogged real good. Took a few tries to get it unclogged. When the vet was feeding her it reclogged. It's the food. It still has small particles in it. Off to get a finer strainer or cheese cloth to see if that helps. The vet said about getting a different food, made specifically for...
Yeah, just tried to flush her tube, for her lunch. No go, guess it's off to the vet. We had to re home one of our cats. We adopted them together. I think that is the reason she stopped eating.
I'm at work until 1pm today. I've been flushing the tube before and after every feeding. It always starts out good, but then gets stuck. I guess my foods too thick? I'll she how she does with her afternoon feeding, if still problems off to the vet again. She just had this tube installed...
My cat Bella, has been diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis and has had a feeding tube installed. I think I'm doing well, accept that some times I can hardly get any food down the tube. Sometimes I can get 15cc down no problem. Others I can hardly get 5 cc in. The plunger on the syringe won't move...
My one cat Puff has the worst smelling poop. I mean it almost makes you eyes water. He was a rescue in November. He was deformed at that time. He also had a URI and was given antibiotics. Since he has been in the house his poop has been terrible. Soft and smelly. I took a simple into the vet and...
Well I'm back. Daniel is still peeing on things. He was on all rx wet and dry and was still peeing/spraying. So the vet an I think it is stress related. I have 12 cats, but to me Daniel doesn't act stressed. Anyway he was put on 2.5mg daily of clomicalm. I had 27 blissful pee free days. Now he's...
I'm stuck feeding my FLUTD cat, and the rest of the cats Medical Urinary SO. I hate that food, such poor quality ingredients. Is there another brand of urinary food that is better quality. (I've tried all canned, raw, etc.His FLUTD is so severe that he gets flare ups if fed anything else)
Cats can get into serious trouble, when they don't eat. I know, I'm dealing with it now. Please feed him some blended wet food with a syringe. It's really easy and will save you from some serious and costly problems.
