Out of the blue stinky litterbox smell...

Ahahah.. yes, I was definitely IN THE DARK, on my hands and knees with a black light searching and yes, sniffing for a possible invisible puddle somewhere.  For non-cat people, I must've looked INSANE!  :D Interesting links on ACV.  But no.. there hasn't been any changes in the smell from using...

Out of the blue stinky litterbox smell...

Hello all, I have 3 cats, and have 3 huge sterilite container litterboxes in the house, and I use the Petco brand unscented scoopable litter.  I scoop 2-3 times a day and today was no different from any other day.  Came home, fed the cats, and then scooped the boxes.  Then took out the trash...

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

He seems to be back to normal.. which is REALLY fast.  But I'm not complaining!  :)  He is no longer running in and out of the box.  I think I caught it early and with the drugs, it's helping him.  Phew.   Thanks for everyone's concern and help.  :) And this is the evil little brat.

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

Reikitty:  All 3 of my cats are on wet-only food.  He is on c/d CANNED food with 2TB of added water every meal, which is about 4TB of water plus a can of wet food a day.  So water isn't the issue from what I can see?  :(  They are on wet only diet ever since they first got UTI/cystitis back in...

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

Slipped and slided my way to the vet with my very displeased cat this morning.  But vet wanted to see him and make sure he wasn't blocked. (he wasn't)  They were unable to get any urine from him since he's been peeing it out after multiple runs to the box.  So I left the vet with Clavamox...

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

Oh, sorry.. my vet ordinarily does prescribe buprenex and clavamox to deal with the issue.  But she and the emergency vet both suggested the other supplements to help with stress and bladder health.  The emergency vet also had him on urethra relaxers as well.  I'm not sure what my vet would...

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

He was on Dasuquin for a good long time, along with Zylkene for stress relief.  The dasuquin ran out a few weeks ago, so he's been on only zylkene and c/d can food (with added water).  I left a VM with the vet office to get more dasuquin to see if it helps. He's not making any noises in the...

    Cystitis AGAIN? :(

Hello all, My cat Tripper is running from box to box and squirting a bit in each again.  He was JUST seen in mid- October for having cystitis while on Purina UR canned food.  Then the emergency vet got the catheter stuck in him, and an emergency surgery was needed to remove it.  While doing so...

    Constipation..?

Haha, yes.. I was impatient and worried!  And so very happy he is more or less back to normal now.  :)

    Constipation..?

So after syringing baby food on Wed and Thurs, Tripper started eating again on Friday.  Annnd.. he started having poo'ing issues.  Or constipation I believe?  Which is weird, because the vet said that with all the fluid in his intestines, he was likely to have diarrhea.  But he's been running...

    Cat with gastroenteritis not eating..

Yeah, after I posted mine, I read your's and immediately head out to get a jar of baby food.  At least something he can swallow easily.  He usually eats pate-style food, but unsure if it will be too chunky to syringe for now?  It's scary seeing a cat that usually eats everything in sight refuse...

    Cat with gastroenteritis not eating..

And just got some baby food mixed with a little water and syringed it into his mouth.  Hopefully it stays down for him.  Something is better than nothing.  Sad when he doesn't even want to eat the baby food, usually that'd be crack for him.  :(

    Cat with gastroenteritis not eating..

Hello all, My cat Tripper (the same one with the cystitis and bladder surgery issue 2 months ago), was diagnosed with gastroenteritis today.  Last Wed, I found scraps of paper towel that was dug out of my trash can (usually latched, but I forgot to latch it that night).  I had no idea how many...

    Coconut oil

I use it topically.  My cat Tripper had a bout of allergies recently and he scratched his ear to pieces.  There was bleeding and whatnot.  I cleaned it out and used a bit of coconut oil to dab on the spots.  I use it on my own cuts and bruises, it heals mega fast with coconut oil.  For my cat...

    Urine Infection Advice

Did your vet include a painkiller?  If not, would be a good idea to ask for some.  Your poor boy is in pain.  :(   Unfortunately, the only things you can do now is continue feeding him the canned food and add extra water to it.  It takes time to heal.  It took my cat about a month.  Also...

Now another cat with weird peeing issues..

I've had her on 1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar 2x a day and the zylkene with her food.  She has stopped the litterbox hopping.  In fact, right after she had it, she went from grumpy to kitten.  Huh.  So at this point, not sure which of the two is helping her, but she is still peeing normal...

Now another cat with weird peeing issues..

Hi all, A month ago, Tripper had a bout of cystitis, and is well by now.  Yesterday, noticed my other cat  Putz (I have 3) kept going into the litterbox.  She went after dinner, and peed and poo'd normally.  Then I noticed soon after, she zipped in again.  And right after zipping in, she hops...

My cat's breathing and hair loss

The last time my cat had odd breathing sounds (her's was odd wheezing sounds time to time, panting when over-excited, and raspiness occasionally when perched on me and purring), and after an x-ray, the vet was able to confirm she has asthma.  No meds yet, but have been keeping an eye on her.  So...
