thank you everyone , i've been watching things on youtube of diagnosed cases... and yea it looks pretty similar. He had an episode before this and DID run from it/himself, but that clips is like three mins long .I will DEFF look into the diet thing... he's so picky and fussy i have to feed him...
Ever since our precious Buddha left us, just over three years now, for the rainbow bridge... there was a hole in my heart...
It took me some convincing (my husband was a little reluctant ) but we adopted a run of the mill mutt kitten from craigslist. It was obvious very early on that he...
Ya dry isn't going to happen here, I think that much is certain. I find a lot of conflicting info about the crystals, some saying the right food is whatever he will eat. That doesn't seem to make much sense to me.
He like's his wellness turkey.... finally something he will eat with low...
Also, is anyone able to tell me about phosphorus binders. I know they are regularly used for CRF, but I thought that if given an appropriate dose it could work for struvite crystals to eliminate some but not all of the phosphorus. I'm not trying to oer complicate my life... Kitten just seems to...
Thank you so much! To everyone who gar their personal knowledge! This is what I was looking for. How does the dry food work? I was told by my first vet (no longer with them) something about salt and increasing water intake, but I seem to remember hearing something about it coating the bladder to...
Could someone walk me through this????
maxshouse.com/nutrition/aafco_cat_food_nutrient_profiles.htm
Also, blueyedgirl: how long was your kitty on the kibble? I'm worried about it... But if I balance it with wet it should be ok right? ....I'm so conflicted
I don't know about the nutrition aspect of it, but my four tend to turn to plastic if they don't have grass. So my logic is, I would rather then eat grass than plastic bags. It doesn't always make them puke... But I know my girl shiva gets very chatty when I bring home grass.
Blueyedgirl:
Thanks for the info! Dry food.... I wasn't sure I wanted to go there, it got me into this mess.
Kitten looks and acts like himself, I've been trying to wait him out.. But even a 50/50 of crap (friskies- now a bad word in my house!) and hills C/D all he will do is lick the...
Kitten is just about 5 years old (September 14) and is having some issues with struvite crystals.. As I've mentioned before, but I'm mainly looking for advise on food at the moment.
I've got about 4 brands/can types I'm going with... The problem is what's affordable as what he will eat meet at...
I'd say the inquirer is a pretty safe source.
http://www.inquisitr.com/229463/medical-marijuana-can-be-safe-treatment-for-pets-experts-say/
As fr my other link, I'm pretty sure that's a scientific paper. Meaning accurate research. No deaths from marijuana ingestion, neither pet nor human.
I...
Ok so there seems to be some controversy over cosequin. Maybe I should be up front, and tell you... That's not the anti inflamitroy I used.
I'm going to get flac... But I don't really care. I've been very closely monitoring kitten and I of course wouldn't do this aside from what I felt was...
That's it in a nutshell.... I haven't slept properly for almost 2 weeks. My poor hubby ... I keep feeling like the sky is falling with kitten when he used to do so much as meow at me funny. I was ready to take him to emergency one night because he meows at me a little worried, but what did I...
What I meant by let him in, into the bedroom when I was sleeping. My Husband often comes to bed late (or zonks on the couch) but he stayed up all night last night. We check to make sure he is wide eyed and alert as the vet assistant told us, and that he is eating and drinking.
Oh and as far as...
Thanks everyone.
Right now I'm away from home again... It's hard for me because I want to be there if anything goes wrong, but I've left my husband with the only phone we have.
I am still seeing blood, and for some reason my husband let Kitten in last night as closed the door. So I woke up...
thanks wholly <3 i will read the sites, but probably not tonight as i have to work early tomorrow. i have been doing a lot of reading on the crystals themself.... i would LOVE to get my family on a raw diet.... but i've been down that road before.... and it didn't go well. Any tips for...
yes, cosequin, we got it as glycoflex and i did a bit of snooping and found out it has other names ( i looked up cosquin). also small amounts of cranberry extract 100mg fruit extract powder. my first vet gave me meticam for anti inflamitory but it aparently has some pain management as well...
Otto, yes the vet perscribed him buprenorphine for his pain. I call it his loopy juice. A few days when i gave it to him he was more lovey dovey than i have ever seen him ( even when he was healthy) i was so relieved to see him act like his old self. headbuts, noses :P i love it when he uses his...
thanks to everyone who responded.
I do know all to well (i've learned my lesson for good!) that dry food is just ... garbage and should not even enter my mind let alone my household. But as far as the perscription stuff.... i was at my wits end. All i knew was that to get better he had to...
I've had a cat with crystals a long time ago, and it did not end well. So immediately I recognized the symptoms. Even though we really couldn't spend the money we brought our baby boy Kitten (yes... That's his name ) to the vet the next morning. We caught it early, and he was giving fluid and...
