    Kitten with nasal congestion

Thanks for the replies! I got up through the night to check on her, and no whistling! I didn't give her chlortab last night as I thought it might be drying her out too much. She actually sounds a lot better this morning. Still a little sound in her nose, but much better than yesterday. I'm...

    Kitten with nasal congestion

I'm guessing she's about 4 months old. She has been tested and just got her second set of boosters.

    Kitten with nasal congestion

I need some advice. I have a kitten I rescued right after Thanksgiving. Poor thing was full of worms and had severe tummy issues. Got that all taken care of and she's been like a new kitten. I boarded her the week of 12/10, picked her up on the 18th. She was severely congested when I got...

    URI Rapid Breathing

Thanks for this! I didn't even think about effort. Even when he's breathing faster, it's a smooth breathe. It doesn't look like he's struggling. That does make me feel a little better about it!

    URI Rapid Breathing

I hope someone can calm my nerves a little. My sweet boy Wiley was diagnosed with a URI last Monday. Poor fella was sneezing his head off and just felt plain crummy. He was put on chlortabs twice a day and zithromax once a day. By Thursday he still hadn't perked up. So my vet told me drop...

    Cat with mild murmur

About 2 months ago, our cat Lil Bit went in for a check up and to check and infected hair follicle. Check up went well and we were told to monitor the hair follicle. The follicle started making a pretty good lump, so our vet was going to do a minor surgery to remove it. The day of the...

    Grain Free - Black Stools?

I wanted to give a quick update on Clove. I don't think going back to Science Diet was a great of an idea. I had cut down on her laxatone, and she seemed to have trouble pooping yesterday. Plus she doesn't seem to care for it. Her little prolapse was swollen and bloody. I think maybe it's...

    Grain Free - Black Stools?

Thanks everyone for the great advice. While I don't necessarily like the Science Diet, I have transitioned her back to it. Since she was doing so well, I hate to upset her GI system given all her problems. The Nutro appears to be a quality food, but I just feel like it's best to stick to...

    Grain Free - Black Stools?

I agree about the laxatone. I'll talk with her vet and see if we might can start cutting that out, or at least down. I feel like the grain free was so easy for her to pass, the laxatone made her tummy runny.

    Grain Free - Black Stools?

I've thought about eliminating the laxatone but worried it wouldn't "flow" as good. Didn't think about adding pumpkin. Yes, she's eating all canned. She's done well so far with no further prolapse on the canned.

    Grain Free - Black Stools?

A little backstory on Clove - a feral cat I'd been feeding brought me her 4 kittens about 3 months ago. I trapped the family and got everyone vetted. Three of the kittens are bobtail, the girl, Clove, has no tail or nub at all. After she was vetted, she had a pretty bad rectal prolapse. Vet...

Anal Prolapse - Purse String Procedure

The vet did confirm it was a rectal prolapse. She has no tail at all, not even a stump. She has a brother like that, one with a little numb, and one with a full tail. Nobody else has these problems. Cat genetics are something else. The vet does believe her problems are coming from not...

Anal Prolapse - Purse String Procedure

Well I thought I would give an update on Clove. The vet had to remove the purse sting. She started straining really bad and got blocked. The next step is to go ahead and spay her and, I don't remember what my vet called this, but tack her colon to her abdominal wall to keep it from coming out...

Anal Prolapse - Purse String Procedure

Thank you! She was a booger to catch and was quite hissy at first, but she's becoming a very sweet baby. If she comes back home tonight, I'll get a rear picture.

Anal Prolapse - Purse String Procedure

I hope we have an update soon. My vet tech friend texted me that they gave her some more laxative to see if that'll help her pass. Her name is Clove, not rear pic, but this is the sweet girl.

Anal Prolapse - Purse String Procedure

So recently I had a mother cat bring me kittens. All but 1 are manx. The little girl of the group had a slight anal prolapse. Fast forward a few weeks and a couple trips to the vet because it wasn't healing on it's own. She had it put back in place with a purse string suture this past...

    Feral Female Advice

Thank you! I have only had one feral male, and he decided he liked inside life after rescue, so I'm a newbie :) The kittens have not been fixed yet, two have just made 2 lbs and one isn't quite there yet. But they will be soon. They did get their first shots. One has decided he loves...

    Feral Female Advice

I posted a couple weeks ago about a feral and her 3 kittens at my house. Well, I caught all three kittens and had them seen about. All healthy, but need socializing. We are working on that now. Monday night I was finally able to trap the mother. She was spayed Wednesday and brought home...

Advice On Wild Mother And Kittens

That's what I'm hoping will work. After catching the first two, I'm leaning more towards 6-8 weeks old. They're eyes have already changed and they have no problem with the kitten dry food I gave them. Keep you fingers crossed for me! Love Hannah and all her work by the way!
