Well, if they planned the break-out, and were playing, that's 100% great!
Some setbacks are natural when a new cat is introduced. Two days is an amazing acclimatization time - the shortest I've ever done was 3 - 4 days, and some have been as long as 2.5 weeks.
Congrats on getting a matched set!
@WebDragon - Hopefully, you'll find it is like getting on a bike after not trying it for say 30 years (not that I have any personal experience with this ...). You certainly can't ride no-handed or pop wheelies like you did 40 years ago, but you still know the basics, and can ride for a while...
I second the cosequin idea. It has helped 2 of my 5. One 80mg capsule sprinkled on top of wet food to help one with thin bones, 2 capsules on a larger cat with arthritis. A bottle of 80 is about $16 - $20, that should be enough to start seeing results.
Work (sigh, every M-F)
Got a $8.50 Custom burger at Jake's Wayback for $2.22. I had to wait until 2:22PM to order it, but it was worth it.
Spent more time on a certain new-to-me website's forum.( :hellocomputer:)
I will be paying attention to the Cayz Clowder in a few moments.
@ChirpySquirrel - I just joined yesterday, and I've been browsing all of the threads with new content, looking to see if I could share any advice. Note, I'm not an expert, I'm just a keen observer of things, and I watch a lot of cats as well...
I did try to read all of the posts in this...
I believe each state has their own laws regarding Rabies Exposure, Source Vector, and Quarantine type & duration.
I know that Delaware has a table that lists all of those in a table like 4 by 2 or something odd.
You can also set up your trap nearby a wireless web cam.
I'm using a Ring doorbell that will alert if it senses motion, and you can request a live feed at any time (saves the walk outside every so many minutes / hours).
Do I qualify for a badge?
Since 2015 I've been doing at least "weekly" visits to the Port Penn Cat Colony, a colony that started out with 15 cats in 2015, and still has 8 survivors seven years later (and most of the outdoor-only cats were at least 5 years old when we started the colony)...
I can also recommend the Pioneer Raindrop (Stainless Steel) and the Drinkwell 360 (also SS). I have and use both in my house.
As they say "4 out of 5 cats recommend them".
However, and this is a Huge However, it you want a zero maintenance water fountain, check out AquaPurr...
The problem I have(?) with lightweight litter is the cost. The cheapest I have seen was $15 for a 18# pail (Tidy Cats yellow pail), and that would fill the 3 boxes once. And with 6 different volunteers, some of who scoop, some who simply dump everything, that gets expensive, unless it is...
Pictures? I got pictures...

What we use at the colony I help manage is stainless steel bowls from Dollar Tree - 24 bowls was $24. That's two bowls a day (for wet food), 14 per week, and that gives us enough to collect on the weekends, throw in the dishwasher, and bring back before we are totally out. No problem w/ kitty...
