Everyone is still out together even when I’m at work. There are still occasions of casper hissing or growling if Loki really pushes him. But still no fighting or severe aggression. The newbies are getting better with people. Loki more than Natasha but she will at least come into a room with...
So my last post was last Saturday which was the first day they were all allowed out together throughout the day and night. Everyone seem to be OK together there have been a few occasions I’ve seen Natasha chase after Casper with her tail all puffy but it never becomes a fight and it may have...
I know right? I feel like I jinxed myself there 😂 I wouldn’t really take their toys of course. I do think things will calm down when I can have them together for full days and nights and some extended periods of calm, when it’s not all “I just got out of jail” craziness. I have the next 4 days...
I have had Casper and Loki eating Lick-up treats right next to each other with no issues. I think Loki’s aggression might be over stimulation? But short of putting away all their toys not sure how I can combat that. Before the extra toys he just tore around the house, not letting me or anyone...
Yesterday and today I’ve had them all out together. Loki is a bit nuts, a ton of energy he’s even too much for Natasha at times and definitely too much for Casper. Casper is just kind of staying out of the way but keeping an eye on everything. I’m hoping for a time that Loki gets tired and just...
Ok thanks. It’s difficult to distract him at times. But I only remove him long enough to get them back in their room so I can let him come out and be on his own again and feel comfortable.
Is it okay to remove Casper when he gets that way? I need to give playtime outside their room especially on the days I have to work nights because they’ll get less time on those days. Once I can let Casper out I give him treats and food so it doesn’t seem like it was a punishment.
Today Casper and Loki spent time together. Seemed to go well. Lot of sniffing as usual. I played with both. They both ate some cream cheese off my fingers close to each other with no issue. Loki can disregard Casper and seems comfortable at times doing his own thing but Casper is not able to do...
That’s good to hear. Thank you for your constant reviews and input. It is greatly appreciated it makes me feel better that they appear to be going in the right direction and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I did some time yesterday with Casper and Natasha. She was very open to playing with him. But he was still unsure and batted at her a few times. I just distracted him and spent time playing with them at same time. Then gave him some treats and put him in my room so I could let Loki out with her...
Feliway optimum it’s a new version or newer version at least to me it supposed to be a bit stronger I have it in the main room. I don’t know if it’s helping or not I guess I’ll find out when I stop using it. But I figured better safe than sorry. I have had some version of Feliway in multiple...
So today we did another feeding with the gate and some visual which went very well everybody was eating. Put up double gates and hung towels so it looks like the gates filled most of the doorway and raised the lower towel higher to give more visibility. Unfortunately while I wasn’t looking Loki...
But No More! I've created a monster. Stealing my lunch is Not Acceptable
I know the feeling I created quite a monster myself. Casper is always interested in finishing my ice cream or milk from cereal, pieces of meat etc. it’s gotten to the point where he just sits next to me and paws at my hand...
Cody was a big guy. Seeing him every day he had lost a few lbs before he stopped eating and I saw something was wrong. At the time he wasn’t really a lap cat. Once diagnosed I was super happy when I was able to get a couple lbs back on him. I was obsessed with his weight every week.
Good your girl likes some of the better foods for her. I did end up donating A LOT of foods after Cody passed. When he liked something I had to get all I could. With Covid, foods were available one day and supply issues the next, it was terrible. Still is. Thanks for info on Mirtazapine. Turns...
I looked up the medications you have listed I’m not sure why you’re being prescribed two different anti-nausea medications? Is she throwing up a lot? also are you sure it’s mirtazapine that’s prescribed, it’s an anti-depressant for adult humans.
As someone who recently had to deal with CKD with my Cody for 7 months, I would say do whatever works in whatever form for your cat. I was not able to medicate Cody. His vet needed to give him his Mirataz in pill form twice a week when he went in for sub-q fluids. We started with topical Mirataz...
