Looking for guidance on wet food

Yeah, I fed my cat Tiki Cat After Dark for a month or so, and he wasn’t a huge fan. A slow transition MIGHT work, but my cat definitely prefers Feline Natural Raw. For a more cost-friendly (but still high quality) wet food, I recommend Petco’s Wholehearted line. Fancy Feast I know is a popular...

Glad to hear he is urinating! I can assure you that he will get better-just be patient. He probably isn’t too into the food because he has been fed kibble all of his life. Cats can get addicted to the “natural flavor” sprayed on kibble to make it taste like meat. Because you can’t slowly wean...

    Savage Cat Food

Thank you! You too. Ash (my cat) has been loving the Feline Natural (I finally got the water/food ratio right lol) but I have noticed the bone in it. Haven’t noticed any issues like constipation etc. I do know that it contains flaxseed, and I love the prebiotics/probiotics it that. So far I have...

is this notoedres cati (feline scabies)?

It looks more like scabies to me. Has he been scratching at it? You should take him to the vet ASAP... both of those conditions are serious and need to be addressed immediately.

    Savage Cat Food

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who replied on this thread. I might try Savage at some point, but I am feeding my cat Feline Natural freeze-dried raw and he seems to be doing very well on it and likes it a lot. I know that some people have inquired about the bone content and such...

    Which litter?

For one cat, just once a month. Because it clumps really well, I don't have to change out the litter when a clump falls apart.

    Which litter?

I recommend the Weruva Hinoki Wood and Green Tea litter. It clumps really well, it is very low in dust, and the pellets are large enough to not track. Sure, you will find one outside of the litter box every now and then, but that it much better than any clay litter I’ve used.

I know that it is EXTREMELY difficult to watch your cat suffer. I do not know whether this will give you hope or not, but I have a male cat who has never had crystals (he's two know) because I have always given him wet food. Kibble, no matter how high quality it is, dehydrates your cat. I know...

    Collar for sensitive skin

Do you know what material his old collar was made of? That makes it easier to know what to avoid. I do know that the Beastie Band Cat Collars are made of neoprene, which isn't your traditional polyester. Hope this helps!

Neutering kittens at 7 months old - will that be a problem?

Cats actually reach sexual maturity at four months of age. When my cat was four months, he was rather aggressive, and I saw that almost instantly go away after he was neutered. Now, he attacks when he is stressed, scared, or being bothered. He did not ever spray, but we never had any other cats...

    Savage Cat Food

The perfect calcium to phosphorus ratio is 1.1:1 (Savage's Chicken food has a ca:p ratio of 1.14:1. You can find that out by dividing the calcium percentage by the phosphorus percentage). I am not sure about the bone, but if your cat does get constipated often, it contains psyllium seed husk for...

    Savage Cat Food

Hello! This is the second thread I have posted because I am having a great time here on TCS. I am asking this question because I have been on the fence about raw food for a while now; I live with an immunocompromised individual, although they would not be handling the cat food... I would like to...

I used to feed Royal Canin. The nutrition isn't that bad, but why add so many synthetic supplements when you can get the same nutrition from a more bioavailable source like meat? And you fed the Urinary SO? Oh my, I've read so many horrible things about that one. It's a wonder they haven't...

    Chewy.com Change????

Ah, yes. I have actually avoided chewy.com whenever possible because of multiple reasons: 1. They say 1-2 day shipping, but it usually takes 5-6 days for orders to arrive 2. I like to support local businesses 3. THE FOOD THAT I ORDER LOOKS AND SMELLS NOTICEABLY DIFFERENT FROM A STORE The dry...

    Tiki Cat Ca:P

Aha, that's perfect! I really cannot thank you enough. I had started feeding it to my cat two weeks ago after he had stopped eating his normal food due to environmental stress. Two months prior when I had realized the evils of a high carb diet for cats I came across Tiki Cat After Dark and...

    Tiki Cat Ca:P

Thank you so much! This makes it SO much easier! The ratios are better than what I had expected. I might need to give my cat some goat's milk occasionally for a calcium boost though. I do have to ask when you requested this information, since I am aware that they recently changed their recipe.

    Tiki Cat Ca:P

:sigh: Yeah... I saw that... I was hoping that I might have better luck... possibly from someone who had contacted the company... I guess I’ll either need to do it myself or find a company that is more forthcoming about nutritional information. I understand that they aren’t prescription diets...
