Yes she’s been 9lbs since I got her 1.5 years ago and the vet always says her weight is good. She hasn’t lost or gained any weight. She has a bowl of Rachael ray salmon dry food she grazes on and I give her some wet food (usually fancy feast) in the evenings. And yes she is spayed, has been...
I feel like if your vet said not to worry yet then you don’t need to. I’d just be in contact with your vet if she doesn’t start eating normally over the next few days
So my cat has had a few incidents over the last few months with not using her litterbox for urination. Back in April, she peed on my dirty laundry a few times. I brought her to the vet and they ruled out a UTI. She did have crystals present in her urine but no sign of stones and still has no...
I know, I’m so lucky they get along so well. I know that’s pretty rare to have success with that so quickly. I honestly wouldn’t have gotten the dog if I didn’t know she was good with my cat. My apartment is way too small to force two animals to coexist while they adjust to each other.
I do have a harness and leash for her but never followed through with training her consistently to get her used to it. Maybe after things settle with the dog and the weather gets nicer, I can try again. How funny would it be to have them both out for a walk? 🤣
Thanks for all the advice! I’ll look into some of these more stimulating items/ideas. I’ll also try to make sure I’m carving out consistent time to give juniper attention. I think it helps that I’m having the dog sleep in her crate at night to help with crate training, so juniper gets me all to...
Hi everyone. So I'm looking for some tips if any of you have any to offer.
About a year ago, I rescued a three year old cat named Juniper, who has overall adjusted beautifully with only a few minor hiccups along the way. She's playful affectionate, and adaptable, and she has been socializing...
A quick update on Juniper (thanks again for all of your advice!) - I took her to the vet and her bloodwork came back with no issues. The vet suggested a pheromone plug in, which I got and have been using for about a week now and she hasn't been vomiting. The vet also said that if she seems like...
I have a heated blanket that she loves. Is it safe to leave that on while I'm gone?
Also I know that traveling with her isn't ideal, but just from observing her behavior, she seems so much more stressed out when left alone, even if I have people stop in to check on her. She just loves to be...
So I have a three year old cat, Juniper, and I've had her for about 8 months now. She's very affectionate, vocal, and playful, and loves to be near me when I'm home. I thought she was adjusting pretty well, and I have even been leaving her alone for one night at a time like once a week or once...
I hope it doesn’t become a common thing since it will most likely mean I have some sort of infestation...thanks for all the advice though! Wasn’t sure if I should deworm her or not. On another note, is deworming something I should be doing at all in general?
I'm sure this isn't uncommon, but it's the first time my cat has caught and killed something, so it was very unsettling to say the least. I was just wondering if there were any health concerns I should worry about with her catching and killing a mouse (fleas, other parasites, etc). Fingers...
Thank you for the tip! Getting her to eat it has been a battle this past week. I have a few more questions for you, if you don't mind.
Do you mix it in with dry or wet food? Juniper eats primarily dry food, seems to enjoy grazing on it throughout the day. She does nibble on wet food but never...
I ended up calling the vet today since I have noticed it happening more. She suggested I add a scoop of canned pumpkin into her food twice a day to add more fiber to her diet. Ended up getting some this afternoon and so far she seems far from interested in eating it but we shall see :)
I rescued Juniper in quite a convoluted way. I had decided that I wanted a cat, and was ready to start looking at local shelters, when my roommate told me that her boyfriend's brother's boss had a cat she was keeping at their office since Juniper wasn't adjusting to life with the boss's other...
Thanks. She was on a chicken diet when I got her and I was worried that the chicken might be causing her some sensitivity, but the truth is that she wasn't on a high quality food and might have been getting more by product than actually quality meat. I will definitely consider experimenting some...
