I am so sorry to hear about your cat. If she is used to wet food then I would recommend meat flavored baby food. I fed that to my baby before he passed and he loved it! My heart goes out to you during this extremely difficult time.
Sadly my baby Rocko crossed the Bridge last week Thursday. He made it exactly 6 weeks from the day we found out. There were so many ups and downs for him. He took a turn for the worst last Monday and Tuesday and then perked up to give us one last load of love on the day of his Euthanasia...
Unfortunately I can’t really say! I used the chamomile warm compress one time follow by a dab of hot spot remedy (for dogs) which i applied with a q-tip... after doing that one time his wound closed and hasn’t opened since!
No worries, not harsh one bit. I have no problem wiping it at all, i already do sometimes if I can get to it first... plus I already have to torture him with multiple medication administrations so whats one more thing.. however, It’s more about not wanting him to wear the cone. May sound bad but...
Aww that is a tough story... so sorry to hear that. We decided not to go through with chemo/radiation just bc it would be guaranteed to come back anyways and would just prolong his suffering and ours due to to the location in his mouth. Today he is happy... letting go is so hard no matter how...
Yes thats what I am considering... only problem is that he never touches it unless it drains and it usually drains when he eats or opens his mouth in discomfort from the tumor. I feel like even with a cone the wound isnt going to close bc of where it is located and the fact that I cant prevent...
Thanks he is a handsome boy! And a lover to the end! I wonder the same thing! Just like humans more and more pets are getting cancer.... hes 12 but was always acting sooo young!
Thanks, it includes buprenex pain meds and Metacam anti inflammatory/pain reliever. Also he can eat whatever he wants whenever he wants! (Which is mostly just baby food) he stopped begging for our food weeks ago but occasionally will eat some meat.
Rocko had horrible swelling on the side of his face with the cancer.. it became so bad that when he scratched it it opened up and bled leaving a wound but the swelling completely disappeared. Before being put on antibiotics a few days later due to draining pus...the lady at the vet told me i...
ugh so sorry to read about your baby! I’m glad he is no longer suffering... we’re at 4 weeks since diagnosis today but drolling, bad breath etc started 3-4 weeks prior. It’s horrible how fast this happens to them!
I’m so sorry! It’s so hard to learn they’re sick and you will lose them soooo soon! I just started scoring him a couple of days ago. So far he is well above that 35 score. Gonna keep journaling daily. So many ups and downs so far.
just curious to hear what other cat humans have experienced with this. I’ve read several different time frames but am curious what your experiences were. Mainly curious about if you treated your cat with palliative/comfort care. Did you have your fur baby euthanized or did they cross the bridge...
Bless you and your sweet Lola! It’s difficult not to shed a tear reading that. I agree with you, this is the toughest challenge as Rocko means everything to me. For many years it was just him and I so he’s such a huge part of my life...luckily now he has had a great cat dad too. We don’t havr...
