One of my cats had same issues. Hers were due to scented litter. We changed litter and shes been fine since. A pet sitter actually gave her scented once without knowing....her eyes went to hell immediately.

Eye infections usually have a yellowish or greenish gunk around the eye and sometimes sealing them shut. This looks more like some sort of allergy to me. Hes a gorgeous kitty....hope he feels better soon.

It's an ointment and not fun to apply. Definitely not a good idea to give human meds to animals. I understand they are the same but dosages are wayyy different and hard to measure out.

I use terramycin with mine. Never had an issue. You can find it at tractor supply here. Takes about 3 days to notice a difference.

Thank you for your responses. The way she explained it is....there IS a malignant melanoma. And one that's not cancerous. Older cats generally get the malignant. I have to pick and choose my battles now...I think whatever is causing him to be so miserable and counts so high needs attention...

You're welcome. If you get your cat to love chasing ice cubes you can try dumping a few in the water bowl. It forces them to hydrate while they play Bob the ice cube lol.

My cat has the lysine treats and loves them never had an issue. They're cheese chicken flavored I think. Available at petsmart.

She looks very healthy still. Some cats hate drinking water...maybe give her some wet food. It helps hydrate them.

Sorry...cerenia for one week...doxi for about 4 months now. If not longer.

He has been on doxi for 4 months. On cerenia and doxi now for past 3 weeks. Was told to try cutting back on the doxi and just use cerenia...tried it. He started gasping for air again after 2 days.
