Going Away For A Few Days, How To Make The Cats Understand We'll Be Back And They'll Be Fine?

I like to leave a worn piece of clothing on the bed too. I am sorry you are worried but I want to say you are good cat humans. They will be okay and so will you!

Frustrated I Can't Give My Cat His Best (outdoor) Life

We have a catio (a chicken coop we purchased on Amazon) connected to a cat door in our window. We created a short ramp that is enclosed in chicken wire so they have no means of escape. It has several levels and I sewed up a couple of "hammocks" from some sunbrella fabric. It was well worth the...

Pet Ultimate Probiotics, Has Anyone Tried? Reviews?

Hi, I know your post is a bit old but I was just searching for this product and came upon it. My kitten (pictured) had horrible GI issues that plagued him from the day he came home. Recently we took in another kitty (3 years old, mostly lived outdoors). He too had very bad GI issues. Lots of...

    Moving With An Outdoor Cat

You can do this! I moved my 6 year old street cat across the country. He was confused, but he quickly adjusted and did fine. I did take the opportunity to transition him to an indoor cat. No matter how much he seems to love the outdoors there, he needs you more!

    Slow/puzzle Feeders

I have used Catit 2.0 and highly recommend. The bowl type feeder not so much. The No Bowl feeders (felt wrapped plastic mice) are terrific! Even my 17 y/o kitty loved these and I knew they wouldn’t be gobbling their food till they barfed.

12.5 Week Old Kitten Vomiting Diarrhea

My poor Cozy boy has been to the vet 3 times and 2 ER visits in 20 days (starting the day after he was adopted) for these symptoms. 3 round of SubQ fluids, cerenia, does well then back to vomiting and diarrhea. Tonight we are at the ER where he will stay overnight for more fluids and an...

Needs Advice About Misc. Issues Inc. Litter, Meds, Etc

I second the suggestion of Miralax (1/8 tsp 2x day or whatever your vet suggests). My Megacolon boy was on Lactulouse which was awful to administer sticky mess. And it's expensive. You can get a tanker of brand-x Miralax and just sprinkle a measured amount on top of his wet food.

12 Week Old Kitten Has Recurring Vomiting Diarrhea

More good suggestions, thanks! I don’t know if anyone else might find it useful but I us an iOS app, Symple, to track my own health issues. I had been jotting notes about Cozy’s condition in a note app then I realized I have something much better. You can create symptoms, tag what was going on...

12 Week Old Kitten Has Recurring Vomiting Diarrhea

Hi daftcat, The vomit was white foam the first time (the AM after his adoption). Since then I have seen food maybe three times. Since someone is with him all day (cat daddy works at home) we can keep him off the dry. I don't like feeding dry anyway I just did it on the recommendation from the...

12 Week Old Kitten Has Recurring Vomiting Diarrhea

Thanks daftcat, He had been on Hills Kitten wet and dry at the shelter and when he came home. I gave him AD after the first bout and again when he crashed last Friday night/Sat. AM. I picked up some Hills Sensitive Digest on Sat. and he's been eating that plus the Hills dry kitten. The vet...

12 Week Old Kitten Has Recurring Vomiting Diarrhea

If this title looks familiar it's because my last post was "11 Week Old Kitten has..." Today was Cozy's check-up for an immunization. But this morning he vomited and refused food then went to the litter box and passed some very foul smelling loose stool. He had been doing much better (eating...

Poopin’ Issues And Colon Support - Recommendations??

My beloved Mr. Baby Cat had megacolon for the last 10 of his 17 years. I made many trips to the E/R when he got blocked up and tried many types of food, lactulose, digestive treats, etc. This is what worked for him: Wet diet Keep him in motion (lots of play and moving). 1/8 tsp Miralax powder...

    Kitten Ascities

Oh, I am so sorry you are going through this. I have no experience with this but just want to let you know I am hoping for the best possible outcome. Did either vet say what was causing it? As I understand this is a symptom of another problem. Regarding the food, since she's got digestive...

Excessive "nursing".. 5mo Old Bottle Raised Kitten

Oh my. I found this just now as my 11 week old kitten aggressively nurses at my arm crook, shoulder, neck, any exposed flesh! And of course mixes the entire time (ouch). He does this in the middle of the night, last night I had to pull the sheet over my head. He is teething and so maybe I’ll...

11 Week Old Kitten Has Recurring Vomiting Diarrhea

Thanks for the replies! I did get him on some Pedialyte (it seemed like the quickest thing to do and I was so worried). He had been cleared for all parasites at the shelter and then again at the ER. Around 6 pm yesterday he got up from his nap, went to his empty food dish and gave me that feed...

What Funny And/or Unusual Things Have You Done To Get Your Kitties To Eat? :-)

My Cozy Morgenstern is sick right now and on syringe feeding. To encourage him to eat I put extruded the food from the syringe onto my hand (that he wanted to gnaw on anyway). It worked great!

    I-131 Treatment For Hyperthyroid Cat

My beloved and the late Mr. Baby Cat had low stage CKD. When he was dx with hyperthyroid the vet immediately recommended the gold standard -- radiation treatment. But after reading that it could irrevocably cause additional kidney damage in a CKD cat, I asked to try the pills first. After he was...
