We rescued him from a shelter for cats of "ill repute". Apparently, he was previously an exotic dancer at a place called "The Pussycat Lounge"... ;-)

I'm a special education teacher by training, although now retired. I worked with emotionally impaired students and I am very familiar with pica. I had students who ate crayons, glue and chalk. I even mentioned it to our vet. She actually agreed with me. So I'm constantly picking things up that...

OMG! Can you believe I just caught Gonzo chewing on a flip-flop? Can I put a muzzle on him? This kitty is going through his nine lives fast... He's ok, though, got to it on time so he did not pick any pieces off.

Forgive me for boring you with Gonzo's updates. He is healing well, the bruising has subsided and his starting to eat better. Not sure how he achieved this pose.

Thanks for the idea. I actually googled it and found some instructions and made one but it seemed to make him restless so back to the cone. Well, the cone kept mysteriously coming off ;-) but Gonzo was not showing any signs of licking, biting or scratching his scar so we let him go without it...

While we were on a trip he stayed at my son's and chewed on an exercise mat...

Yet another update... Just when we thought Gonzo was getting better, he took a turn for the worse. The vet called and recommended emergency surgery. We agreed and it was done and it went well. She found a piece of foam in his intestine that was causing the blockage. He's recovering well and...

Another update... Gonzo spent the night at the clinic and got some more fluids in him. This morning he had a bowel movement! YEAH! The vet decided to keep him under observation a little longer before operating on him hoping that he passes whatever is there. More blood work this morning...
