    Veterinary Malpratice?

Thank you all for the info, I have a lot to look into. I’ve done a bit of searching and I’ve found a couple lawyers in the area that dabble in Veterinary malpractice. It would be nice to have the ER bills covered, at the very least. I know it’s unlikely much will come out of the complaint as...

    Veterinary Malpratice?

Hello all! I posted a few weeks ago about my kitty Kaluha having a stroke, and after 3 nights in the ICU, almost dying, and 2 weeks of tests, he’s been diagnosed hypertensive. We are still investigating on whether it is primary or secondary but he does have Kidney Disease so he was at high...

Cat Just Had A Severe Neurological Event

Ok! We just wrapped up his Neurologist appointment and it’s pretty good news, considering. He shows zero signs of any neurological damage and his vision is 100% back. His blood pressure was at 280! That’s higher than it was when we rushed him in to the ER. So even though his BP stabilized at...

Cat Just Had A Severe Neurological Event

So far he’s eaten a couple tablespoons of food! I called the hospital and they said, minimum, he needs to take in 1TBS every 6-8hrs, so we are getting there. I got him lots of options to choose from, he’s been getting little food buffets so he can pick whatever he wants to eat. I’ll worry about...

Cat Just Had A Severe Neurological Event

Yes they monitored his BP up until he was discharged this morning and it’s been at a healthy level. When I first brought him in they thought he was suffering from a severe hypertensive episode, his BP was so high he was at risk for organ damage and blindness. Somehow he made it through that with...

Cat Just Had A Severe Neurological Event

Thank you for the link, I’ll look at those suggestions and get on it. I’ve gotten him to eat a tablespoons worth of some non prescription food I keep on hand for when he gets finicky. Once my partner gets back today I’ll be making a trip out to grab some more random tasty foods he may be into...

Cat Just Had A Severe Neurological Event

Hey all. I’ve had a lonnngggg 48 hours, almost lost my kitty Sunday night. I’m hoping someone has experienced something even close to this that may have ideas, I guess I’m just trying to settle my anxieties while I wait for his next doctor visit. Sunday evening I came home and my cat didn’t...

    Baytril And Ckd

We have hopefully found a solution! We had a few options on the table and went with good ol trusty Amoxicillin for 1 month. Pretty drastic difference. Fingers crossed this does the trick. We’ve been in and out of the vet for the last 3 months and could use a break.

    Baytril And Ckd

Thank you for all the response! I spoke with the emergency vet that treatment him first, and she said there were plenty of other options she would chose first over Baytril due to the side effects and his kidney disease. She was also concerned about the length of time he was to be on it. She...

    Baytril And Ckd

I agree it seems like a very long time, and like baytril should really be a lasst resort so maybe when you call tomorrow ask if they would be willing to re-culture or use the old one and test to see which antibiotics it's sensitive to, other than baytril? Yeah, absolutely. If there is a safer...

    Baytril And Ckd

Wow thank you for doing that! I had a culture done while Kaluha was on the Clavamox so he had mentioned another one wasn’t necessary unless this medication didn’t work. I’m going to have to call tomorrow and see what they have to say about it. It just doesn’t sit well with me, and seems like a...

    Baytril And Ckd

Hello! I have a 14yr old CKD kitty, Kaluha, that has had pretty stable levels the last year and a half. He came down with a urinary infection of sorts a few weeks ago and after an emergency trip to the vet late one evening he was put on Clavamox. He improved quickly, finished his last dose 4...

Separate Feeding Areas With Limited Space

I was considering the Kennel idea, but as a last resort. I have to have a pet sitter on occasion when I leave town for work and this dang cat is afraid of everyone outside of myself, my boyfriend, and a couple friends that have been around him for a number of years. Otherwise he insta hides...

Separate Feeding Areas With Limited Space

I'll keep trying this week with the bathroom in hopes that he will settle down.

Separate Feeding Areas With Limited Space

Leko will be very persistent when it comes to eating food that isn't hers so she pretty much can't have any way to access Kaluha's food, and Kaluha is passive and will walk away from his bowl as soon as she tries to get into it. Kaluha has a hard time staying focused on eating if he isn't...

Separate Feeding Areas With Limited Space

I've skimmed through a lot of these forums, here and other places to find help with feeding my two cats separately, but the answers haven't been tailored to my specific situation. I apologize for such a long post, I just really need some help easing this transition on my scaredy cat. I have...
