Hello forum
I got petinsurance for my cats last year and have filed several claims because my cat has gotten sick a few times. I just received a letter from insurance company stating premium will go up by 30% this year.
Was just wondering if any fellow pet parents here also have pet...
...and an heart examination, but the whole thing is pretty expensive for me as a broke college student. I was thinking of getting petinsurance to cover these fees (Lemonade), but I'm not sure if it would be covered since his kidney and heart conditions might be considered as "pre-existing"? I'm...
I'm looking into petinsurance for my 4-year-old cat and I've read through most of the threads on here concerning said subject, but I'm wondering if anyone has Figo and if so, what do you think about it?
I do have petinsurance and regret not insuring an older dog, but in general I agree with @artiemom about this subject. Your cat will be excluded for all heart conditions and kidney conditions which may even include adjunct issues like a UTI. On the outside chance that your cat will eventually...
...month it became high grade and very aggressive. I am in the middle of sorting out her affairs, including her final vet bills and the petinsurance company is giving me a hard time.
I purchased petinsurance for Flora around the time she was having elevated liver/dental issues, the policy was...
I just adopted a 9 month old Scottish fold kitten from my local shelter and am looking into petinsurance! Anyone have any recommendations or ones to stay away from? Thanks!
I’ve never had 2 cats at the same time, except when Grandad’s elderly cat came and that worked out fine. My only advice is— I don’t know what vets cost in the UK but here in the US they cost a bundle, so make sure you have petinsurance!
This is for the USA.
I do not currently have petinsurance. I have multiple cats and find it cheaper to just cover the cost of the vet. However, I do one cat that has skin irritation (not itchy; minor rash/sores) that I would like to get to the bottom of.
So I am investigating if I should...
Petinsurance should send you a file/contract like human insurance which will list the items/illnesses not covered due to pre-existing conditions. Our dog wasn't insured for CL tears until the repair on the two she had was done and held for a year. Somethings will never be insured. Read the...
Hi I like to insure my pets with petinsurance. I originally had healthy paws for a couple years and didn’t have any huge problems with them but they did keep increasing my premiums and so I ended up looking elsewhere for a different company. I settled on PetsBest and have really not liked them...
I'm thinking of changing my petinsurance (I currently have Lemonade).
Would love to hear from this forum what insurance everyone has and what they like/don't like about it.
You may want to look into petinsurance as your bill is sadly not atypical of vet costs today. Kenny is young which is on his side as far as rates go and this episode might only be a temporary exclusion if it does not recur.
First time looking into petinsurance. I'm not worried about preventive. These are the 4 I've gotten quotes from. Lemonade and Pets Best are the cheapest, but they don't dover sick visits or dental (Lemonade has add-ons but it's $$$). Fetch and Pumpkin seem to cover the most. I'm guessing once I...
I need to get insurance for Benjamin before he’s too old. He’s four. Embrace looks pretty good but looking for advice and experience of other cat owners. I just spent $6k on care for Oliver and really wishing I had bought insurance.
...things might have cost and I didn't have to. All I know if the treatment cost exceeds $1,000 it's not my problem other than the 10%.
Anyway, that's my rant/rave about petinsurance. If you an afford it (and I understand many people can't) the benefits far outweigh the cost of the premiums.
Mathematically speaking, all insurance is a bad deal unless a third party is subsidizing it. With private human health insurance, about 30% of premiums go to insurance company administrative costs.
You have to decide how much "peace of mind" (ie regular, predictable premium bills instead of...
Oh yeah I know I looked into petinsurance last night I started here first. Few I found that are affordable say he has to go 5 or 6 months without an issue of a UTI reoccurring. So for Scooter it wouldn’t cover him until March cause March would be 6 months. But right now I can’t afford it until...
Awesome I will look for those threads. I was considering petinsurance since i'm having to take him to the vet again. He's getting older so insurance would help a lot.
