    Claw clipping (back claws)

Vet will have to do them, Willow really fought and I think if I try closing the clippers on her back claws, I'm going to cut way more off than I should, she says the clippers are going to eat her in one mouthful ❤️

    Claw trimming

She's happy paws getting touched, if claw clippers have gone to bed ❤️ I can touch paws, she doesn't allow everyone to touch paws, she doesn't allow it from men cause apparently men make babies all by themself she thinks  :catlove:

How does she react to you handling her paws, with no nail clippers present?

    Claw trimming

Try handling her paws and extending a nail or two. How does she react? If she's good with this, can you gently use your fingertips or fingernails to "pretend" to clip her claws? Make absolutely sure the clippers are sharp. Dull clippers will pinch the nail before cutting it. :)

    Claw clipping (back claws)

Update on the developing story: fearless cat conquers mean nail clippers!! 😂 I think the plan to have the vet do it is a good one. No sense in stressing you both out. 😺

    Claw clipping (back claws)

...to move slower with my tortie as she was very suspicious with the churru training, but now she's more cooperative. (Whereas in the past just seeing the clippers made her move away from me.) The training included touching of paws, exposing the nails, and clipping the clippers to simulate the...

    Claw trimming

She was sleepy when I did her claws, she was quick to escalate from sleepy to "your trying to chop my paws off, go away clippers" mode, I've never known a cat escalate as fast as she does at claw clip time, literally she can be asleep and she's trying to make the clippers go away as soon as they...

...only try for one paw at a time, and I seldom worry about the claws on her back paws. I have a small Swiss Army Knife that has nail clippers on it, like this one: Victorinox Nail Clip 580 Swiss Army Knife at Swiss Knife Shop The clipper blades have less of a curve than standard nail clippers...

Help! Vet wants to sedate my OA cat for nail trimming

...have to be taken to the vet as she didn't want me trimming nails and would even leave where she was relaxed when she heard me ready the clippers. Her dislike was growing over time. It's been a slow process, but I was able to get a few nails at different times and she's tolerating it now...

Tell me a mildly infuriating story...lol.

Mildly infuriating but kind of stupid-funny... I had a pair of pet clippers at work that had been acting up. The cord was very lightly loose at the base of the clippers and would occasionally shut themselves off if the cord got twisted in a certain way. I had a new pair in my cabinet, but I...

Trimming Big Boy without getting clipped

Have you done the gradual introduction? Over a period of time show him the unplugged clippers and reward, show him the clippers running (don't actualy cut his fur) and reward if he doesn't bolt or hide. And finaly work up to actualy clipping him.

    Mazie vs matting

Hi You may have to trim that fur, with a set of clippers. She will be more comfortable and it will grow back, and you'll be better able to keep up with it then. You could try grooming it now with a brush but that may be very painful for her.

    stray cat chunky hair

...her skin underneith could easily be iritated or infected. Do not try to cut them out by yourself, the skin is probably pinched and could easily be nicked by clippers or scissors. Could you possably have her trimmed down at the same time?at least a sanitary cut so she can still go to the...

    Clippers for cat grooming

...and mats. She lets me vacuum her with an attachment, so I think I could clip her to a number 6 height. It would be stressful for her to visit a groomer, so I'd rather just buy clippers and do it myself. I'm not too concerned if she looks good, I just want her to be able to feel more comfortable.
