    Fleas and Tapeworms

I guess that I am in the middle on this. My cat vet does not automatically deworm if a cat has fleas, but I have had a few occasions where various cats have had tapeworms and then had to be treated for them. This has always happened during flea season, even if the cats are treated. I have had...

    Fleas and Tapeworms

Interesting. I guess my cat is just out of the norm then. We've been fighting fleas off and on for a few years now and - knock on wood - she has not had any tapeworms.

    Fleas and Tapeworms

My vet has stated previously that cats are not like dogs. Dogs will bite at fleas and not get them, but cats will get almost all of them, so she always recommends deworming for tapeworms if your kitty has fleas.

...stool for worms first. I presume you cn collect some stool from outside - ideally soon after he goes - bag it and refrigerate it if you can't get it to the vet right away. Although, fairly common with fleas and tapeworms, it doesn't always happen, so why give this cat a wormer if it is not...

    Fleas and Tapeworms

I saw that it depends what you want to give together. So I would definitely ask the vet. That being said, cats get tapeworm from ingesting fleas, so it is good the fleas will die first. Put the tapeworm pill in a tiny bit of cheese or pressed into half cooked bacon (I haev used a tiny piece of...

    Fleas and Tapeworms

For the first time since we've been caring for him, our outdoor community kitty has fleas. He's been so itchy and scratchy the past week to 10 days. I was thinking it was food related since we changed food about 3-4 weeks ago, but then I saw a flea crawling on him. I got topical flea meds from...

FIP cat over grooming with rips in fur. Need help.

If you suspect allergies, you would need to ask the vet for allergy medicine specific to cats, and likely to start with an elimination diet which starts with a hydrolyzed protein diet from the vet as a prescription . I put the instructions for talking to a vet here: Food Allergy - How to...

6 week old kitten 1.85 lbs, capstar

...- this time may come soon; its not enough with the standard dewormer taking only roundworms. Being flea infested he may also have tapeworms, because fleas are inbetween host of tapeworm. These spot on deparasites takes often roundworm too, but not always tapeworm. Let your vet advice you.

6 week old kitten 1.85 lbs, capstar

I rescued a 6-week-old kitten this week that had been dumped near a barn. She is in very good health, other than fleas. My state is having a massive flea outbreak due to rain, so bathing in Dawn dish soap isn't working well enough. I do have capstar that I keep on hand, but she is not yet the 2...

...in this country and hate that there isn't much I can do about it permanently. There are some dogs where I am that are covered in ticks and fleas and their bones are showing. They also have mange. I wish I could take them to a vet but I don't have much money and the mentality by the locals...

Would my cats like riding in a stroller?

...taking them for walks but that would mean the added expense of putting them on flea medicine. Which I have never liked using on them. If my room gets full of fleas I have nowhere to put them to get my room treated. Just wondering what you guys think, I want to make their lives a little happier.

    Concerned about kitten

I live in the USA, and the kmr just says kmr on it, I also do have goats milk and I sadly don't have a way to weigh him yet, but I'm getting a scale as soon as I can, he is definitely gaining weight though, he's much bigger than he was a few days ago but I definitely want to get a scale to make...

...My guess it works too, but as I only know for sure simethicone, I insist on you try to find simethicone. Ps 2. As he was covered in fleas. When the time come to deworm him, it wont be enough to make the usual deworming against roundworms, you must take an all round dewormer against tape...

    Beneficial nematodes for flea control

...(and now back to cold.) I have been seeing the odd flea on dogs at work for a few weeks now. So far, the cats and Livie remain clean. No fleas, no flea dirt. I'm anxious to see how long the application I did last May will last. Fleas really like wet spring weather, and I'm seeing them...
