I stumbled across this article after reading your post - Denamarin vs. MilkThistle: 2023 Comparison and Key Differences (pet.reviews). Maybe it can be of some help to you while you wait on other members' input. Until then, perhaps you'd like to peruse through previous posts about each of these...
Did you try the Sam E and change to the milkthistle? Did you cat take it without any problems? My baby is getting traumatized over constantly being forced this supplement.
Hi, for my angel Poppycat we had to give sub-q fluids at home. Another med was denamarin for liver support and then we switched to milkthistle.
I don't recall how long it took before he was back to health, but a big milestone was when he became too strong for us to handle for the fluids...

Silymarin Math
There is approximately 3% silymarin (based on the dry weight of our MilkThistle) per serving size (1/4 tsp).

Milkthistle is available without a prescription. I obtained a powdered product with no/few other ingredients. The dosage is on the container. I added it to my angel Poppycat's food.
This is what I found in liquid form;

I’ve used milkthistle as a liver supplement. The thing you need to look for on the nutritional label is the silymarin content. Some brands have a lower percentage than others. I believe you can also get it as a liquid/tincture, but be sure to get non-alcohol.
I have also used SAM-e as...
I will again. I asked him before and he said he wants him to have Sam E but the cat violently rejects it and drools and hides. He had diarrhea today which I think is from the Sam E. He wasn’t his normal self so we aren’t giving it to him again. This was a liquid form which was worse than the...
...handfeeding it was a little challenging some days to get enough calories in him, so that's where the RC came in plus the consistency of the pate was easy to feed.
The MilkThistle I used was a powder that I mixed into his food -...
...I have been taking a supplement recommended to me by my friend at the health food store to lower cholesterol, but it has red yeast rice, milkthistle, alpha lineolic acid and Co Q10, and I called her and asked if any of those ingredients can detox you, as when I take things that can my mood...
...your cat are that Poppy was prescribed sub-q fluids which we administered daily at home, and denamarin, then eventually we switched to milkthistle. I don't remember how his eating was because since he was uber finicky, and so I had to handfeed him in order to get the supplements in him...
I don't recall all the details, but we used denamarin initially and then we switched to milkthistle. Every cat is different though, so what worked for him isn't necessarily what will work for your cat. We used a pill popper, but it sounds to me as though you need to talk to your vet about the...
Thank you. I will ask. I have emailed the company who makes the pills if its OK to hide in cheese, if not I will ask vet about milkthistle
Thank you for the kidney site too xx
Hi
It's suggested to not hide the denamarin in treats or food.
Would your vet have a technician who could stop by to help pill her? Would your vet consider milkthistle as an alternative ( which is easier to give)?
