    Mammory Tumor

I found out earlier this week that my beautiful Muffy has breast cancer. The vet said there was an obvious mass under her tummy. The vet gave us the statistics (90% of mammory tumors are malignant, 10% benign) and that if she was to have surgery, we could be wasting money as there is a good...

...loves. She was also lethargic and just stayed on my bed. And her breathing seemed heavier. I should also note she has a history of mammory cancer. Removed a nipple and a nodule nearby back in Oct 2016. She had her yearly on 1/10 (shots and all) and I mentioned all this. They said to...

Emergency! Sick kitten! Cannot see a Vet!

I'd do sparrow first if possible. The boys are still capable of impregnating her up-to aon the or do after they've been done.

Emergency! Sick kitten! Cannot see a Vet!

...you lived with a female cat in heat? Its VERY annoying. And uncomfortable for her as well. Not to mention the chance of breast cancer/mammory cancer if they are intact. Males usually calm down and get friendlier without the hormones raging. You can get one boy done in June and the next boy...

    Keeping a kitten alive

So quick update on momma, with some unfortunate news. I had an appt at a low cost clinic to get her spayed today, would have been 30$. They told me check her mammory glands to make sure they were empty. Upon checking i noticed alot of nodules all over her stomach. I cancelled the spay appt and...

    My cat has mammary cancer.

Mammory cancer is very aggressive. Not doing anything will allow it to spread quickly. Not many cats make it because most times when you finally find the tumor, its already been in kitties system spreading. @cookie...I'm not sure if you were asking me but my kitties first tumor was 1 cm. The...

    My cat has mammary cancer.

My 10 yr old got mammory cancer. After one lumpectomy, it came back 6 mos later. Took her to a cancer hospital and she had a unilateral mastectomy. So far she has been lump free for 1 yr 3 months. They wanted to do both sides but they found a heart murmur and she is so tiny that we would have...

    Need help with sick feral

Well - then, you already know what I will say so I won't. In all honesty, since she is a senior now, almost nine years old, and is not spayed this could be a cancer of some sort in her mammory glands. And, that is just a complete guess since you mention about the swollen nipples and all of the...

Tclark... I am going through the same situation...however I am just starting this journey with my cat. I got that horrific call tonight that the lump was in fact a mammory tumour. I am just devastated. Our vet suggested radical mastectomies.....Both sides!!! Can u please tell me how your...

Do you think my 3 1/2 yr old should be spayed?

Unequivocally YES! Get her spayed- not doing so opens her up to a horrible type of mammory cancer that I have had the misfortune of seeing in a few older rescues who were not spayed. It is not fair for her to keep her fertile and have her go through heat cycles and the possibility of getting...

Can I wait one more month? ~Mulit-cat owner question

...in heat at least once. Research has shown that spaying a female before her first heat is better for her health. It reduced the risk of mammory cancer to almost zero, and her risk increases with each heat cycle. So I belive in spaying by 6 months. Yes some females go into heat before 6 months...

Can I wait one more month? ~Mulit-cat owner question

...done. My vet neuters boys at 4-5 months but doesn't spay females until 6 months. I'd make sure I've got an appointment for female. I know people are often more worried about the spraying, but if you get your little girl spayed before her first heat her risk of mammory cancer goes to almost zero.
