1 year old cat was diagnosed with PillowFoot. He has it real bad on his left rear paw. He was treated at another vet about 6 weeks ago for his right paw and somewhat cleared up. The vet knew about at much as I do about it so we changed vets.
This time it's on his left rear paw and much worse...
I think my cat has pillowfoot, or at the very least his paw is infected. He started excessively grooming his limbs the day before yesterday, front paws in particular. I checked yesterday day morning to see what was going on and there was black gunk on the fur between the paw pads on the front...
I said in a previous post that it was my family's adopted cat Little Mama who was having issues with pooping and peeing outside the litterbox. However, a short time ago, I learned that it was our little one-year-old kitten Sassy who was really doing that! And I caught her with a big poop in one...

Having had one cat with Giardia and another with Pillowfoot hopefully I can help.
Giardia is a parasite and does require treatment. Once treatment is completed kitties really should be retested to ensure it's gone. Be sure to clean out the litter boxes often as it can be contagious .... and as...
Our house faces south. Our bay window in the living room has a large pillow for the girls to nap in the sun. The windows in the bedroom face south; there's a catnapper at one window and a large stand with a pillow for them to nap. The foot of the bed gets a lot of sun in the winter, when the sun...
...what it is you may want to consider going to a feline only specialist. From the looks of the third pic it could possibly be Pododermatitis. Here is an article that discusses this in more detail: PillowFoot (Pododermatitis) in Cats | PetMD
Best of luck and please keep us updated. :crossfingers:
Did they try antibiotics first, such as doxycycline? Doxycycline is an antibiotic, but it also has immunomodulating properties and can be effective in treating plasma cell pododermatitis (which is what pillowfoot is).

@Furballsmom Thank you!
@FeebysOwner She is on it for PillowFoot. I actually just spoke with the vet and we are going to wean her off of the medication. He said that the medication is typically well tolerated in cats, but really I should just see some like increased hunger and they should...

Hi thanks for this response! They tried doxycycline but it was only 3 days I believe. He was also resisting it so much (kept coughing it up) that the vet said to let it go. This was earlier in the journey before the ct scan and diagnosis. Is this only in pill form? Did your cat have similar...
...I understand eosinophilic granuloma encompasses a family of things. Have they looked at / tried doxycycline? I know it's the go to for pillowfoot and some used to treat types of eosinophilic granuloma complexes.
Someone correct me if I am wrong about it eosinophilic granuloma encompassing a...
...The Amoxi-Clav is probably as they are thinking the wound might be infected.
You are correct about Doxycycline. It is the go to for pillowfoot not Amoxi-Clav. I unfortunately know this is I had to treat one of my girls for it. 10 months on it and it's not come back since. *knock on wood*...
I had two cats with pillowfoot. One had it in a more minor way (only some minor swelling of pads, no complications, went away after time) but the other had it worse. At one point, one of his paw pads "exploded". There was tissue that was coming out of his pad. We took him to a dermatologist who...
It kind of sounds like pillowfoot (plasma cell pododermatitis) or a form of eosinophilic granuloma, maybe. How many pads are affected and exactly which one(s)? Not all cases of either condition have to involve swelling or inflammation, particularly at the onset, but I have heard where pillow...
Ah the biggest Squishmallows are 24 inches. . .big, but not exactly an 8-foot Costco teddy bear, lol. My niece has one and it's not that bad, not very different from a bed pillow.
She was sitting at the foot of my chair from the moment she came back from her plate to the moment I finished preparing my breakfast and brought it over. The moment I sat down, she was in my lap. Even before I could get my legs up on the ottoman pillow stack. 😽🥰
Same exact thing happened to my cat. We had tried it for her pillowfoot. She is a very energetic and playful young cat, but when on prednisolone she just wanted to lay down, sleep and seemed lethargic. Not a single interest in playing, which is completely out of character. It also made me feel...
...vet. It doesn't appear that these conditions will necessarily clear up on their own without help, and giardia can be contagious, meaning your other cats are being exposed to it.

...for her. Lola is a 10 month old, 9lb spayed dm shorthair female. She has recently been diagnosed with plasma cell pododermatitis AKA pillowfoot. I would like to provide her background and what has been going on with her up to the point where we are now. Maybe all of her symptoms contribute...
