    AeroKat for Cats

One of our cats has an AeroKat, too, and it works very well for her.

    Wheezing Attack

There is nothing in AeroKat. AeroKat is a tool to help you use an inhaler with your cat. If you google it, you can see what it does. Otherwise it would be difficult to get a cat to use an inhaler.

Cat diagnosed with asthma, meds aren't working too well

Asthma requires ongoing, long-term treatment. Did your vet mention using a nebulizer or AeroKat?

    AeroKat for Cats

GoodRX is OK for the inhaler but you can get even better prices if you use an overseas pharmacy, if your vet is willing. I use Northwest Pharmacy. You do have to upload your prescription and factor in shipping time but the savings are significant - currently a 120 dose generic version is around...

    AeroKat for Cats

...for her, not a problem. Our vet mentioned but did that stress this option. Showed me GoodRx online and went through everything. Maybe thinking AeroKat is the best option, but more people would do if its cheaper? Vet also said the inhalers may have some difference to them???? Anyway she was very...

    AeroKat for Cats

Awesome! She needed to be on prednisolone for awhile, lungs were awful. Really did not know if it would be possible with this one.My husband just raised a eyebrow and said really with her. He was up for it though.Vet was very positive recommending it but recently told me she wasn't sure I'd...

Plz help! Cat won’t stop gagging

...You can check out Fritz the Brave's website for more info on asthma. Most treatment includes steroids or possibly steroids and a nebulizer (Aerokat). My husband has asthma, so we just use his asthma nebulizer for our asthmatic kitty. Feline Asthma with Fritz the Brave - your comprehensive...

    AeroKat for Cats

Yes to "not crystal clear"! My impression (and that's all it is, dating back to 2019, when Ireland was diagnosed with asthma) is that the U.S. essentially ignores legit meds that come into the country, particularly since online pharmacies limit their offerings: no opioids, for example. This...

    Asthmatic flareup (new member)

I so agree about getting your cat started on a fluticasone/flixotide preventive inhaler! And to have an albuterol rescue inhaler on hand. The AeroKat makes it relatively easy to "puff" your cat. Yes, it's possible to get the inhalers much cheaper through online pharmacies. One of the huge...

    Depo-medrol in a diabetic/CKD cat

I only have saline but between Romeo's recurrent FHV related respiratory stuff and the old cat Squeaky's severe asthma, I think in addition to his albuterol and Aerokat that I need some Fluticazole to add to the nebulizer...

Wheezing cat. Is it a hairball? Coughing?

...But your interpretation is totally valid, too. In any case, I agree: don't press/push the mask. I like to hold it right at Ireland's nose, supporting it so I don't have to press it into her nose. I basically do all the same as you, though I always leave the inhaler inserted in the AeroKat.

    6 Month Old Wheezing

...vet. So does the fact that this happened three days ago but you're still thinking about it. That's always a sign for me! Here's a page from AeroKat about panting that outlines some of the possibilities...

...but not exactly what she does. We now give her a puff of an inhaler twice a day (12 hours apart). We use the little kitty inhaler spacer by AeroKat. The inhalers are very expensive, so I order them from a Canadian company and can get a 4 month supply for about $144. It took some training, but...

I think my cat would tolerate it. She's pretty mild tempered and patient. Thank you.

    Depo-medrol in a diabetic/CKD cat

Yes, he has an Aerokat inhaler and albuterol for episodes between Depo shots. Poor guy has food allergies, dermatitis, asthma, environmental allergies...he has all of his teeth out due to severe stomatitis, and clearly, he has an overactive immune system. The Depo was controlling his dermatitis...

Wheezing cat. Is it a hairball? Coughing?

To get started with training, I showed the AeroKat to Tessa, and let her smell it, then told her “good girl” and gave her a treat. That was it. Next day I did that and then put it on her face (no medicine) for just a couple seconds til she pulled away, told her “good girl” and gave her a treat...

...one little asthma attack the second day. Yesterday we reduced it to once a day (morning) and he had a small one last night. I just ordered an AeroKat chamber and the vet is leaving me a script for Fluticasone. Is that what everyone else is taking? He warned me it's expensive and said I should...
