I have 4 newborn kittens that were born a few days ago. Mama kitty is gone. Went to store bought nursery bottle and milk replacer. They are not wanting to take to the bottle. Am I soing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Kittens whom had experience of a momma, do prefer momma and are in the beginning reluctant to bottle. Its easier with a syringe. Also, if someone is weak or a weak suckler, its easier with a syringe. You can begin with a dropper if you dont have any suitable syringe at hand.

Be sure they are warm when you feed them! If they seem weak, you can smear some water with white caro syrup or honey on their lips and gums. It gives quick energhy.

What sort of kmr did you got? Goats milk is also OK, and raw goats milk is often excellent. What country are you in?

Please continue to report and continue to ask questions!

Switch to a can of the powdered. It’s far superior and kittens love it. You get more and it lasts longer. The pre-mixed often gives kittens diarrhea.

How are the kittens today? Are they eating well?

Oh dear! They must be getting dehydrated by now. They won’t hold up long without milk.

Head to a vet office with the kittens if you can. They can give you a syringe, and a vet tech can show you how to feed. The kittens need to eat a full meal ASAP. At this age they need to eat every 2 hours around the clock.

Otherwise, you can ask a pharmacy for a syringe.
