Hi, so recently I have found out that there might be Norwegian Forest cat breeders and Turkish Angora breeders near my area. I want a cat sho is highly intelligent and really friendly. Also who likes water. Who can be a lap cat and will sleep with me. Also if they can be taken for walks, would be a great plus. Also, I want this cat to be a companion cat for my current cat. She is a Turkish Angora mix, really friendly, energetic, and playful. Though I noticed that when she was playing with her late sister. One of them would meow in distress sometimes. Help in trying to decide between the breeds would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
My Turk. A mix is all of that :)
I had a maine coon mix, and she was very smart, and super loyal, but whoever had her first quashed any lapcat tendencies--or she never had them.

Hi there! Both Turkish Angoras and Norwegian Forest Cats are smart and friendly breeds! The cats who like water the best are Turkish Vans. I would highly recommend checking out a shelter, to see if there’s a kitty there who is a good match!

Unfortunately kittens don't have guaranteed personalities, from my knowledge turkish angoras tend to be more cuddly but it's very dependent on a cat by cat basis. They're all very different even within the same breed.

I agree. Greg and Arnold have the same parents, were born at the same time, look very similar and according to experts here are likley predominantly norwegian forest cats......... yet there are significant differences in their personalities. Even as I type this, arnold is purring in my lap and greg is nowhere to be seen (although he is extremely affectionate with my wife every night). To make matters more complicated, their personalities did not emerge until they had been with us for sometime, despite being 1 and a half years old when we adopted them.
