Farewell, Loki, The Best Buddy Ever

You were my buddy and best friend for over 12 years. You brought such fun into our lives! We miss you, dear boy. I miss your purr, which was constant. I miss you cuddling with me in bed. I miss your easy-going nature; nothing bothered you until the last day.

I'm so sorry to hear that your Loki has left. Its always hard when our little ones have to leave us to continue their journey alone. One day you two will be reunited again. Until then just remember the good times and how happy Loki must have been to have someone who truly cares for him in this life.

My prayers and condolences go out to you in this time of sadness, I'll pray for you and your family to take comfort in knowing you gave that sweet boy a wonderful home full of love and caring. We are one big family at this site and it brings tears to know one of it's members is hurting. I offer you my support and prayers, and a shoulder to cry on if you need it. Although I know the tears are never far behind at a time like this. Thank goodness you have everyone here to surround you and offer their prayers and words of condolence, it truly helps to know there are others who understand and are willing to share your burden. A burden shared is a burden lightened.
Since I so recently lost a little one of my own, one who shared my life for 17 years, I know the pain in you heart when the thousand little things come up every day that remind us of our loss. The favorite toys, the empty places where they always laid, the hair we find that all remind us of our loss. It hurts, it hurts badly. Thank goodness for the presence of the others in our lives. They demand our attention, they provide a welcome distraction. Your Sarah Jane is mourning too, you can lean on each other to get through this. Hold that little girl tight and tell her how much she is loved. Please give her a kiss from me. Know that nothing is forever, but the present time holds those we love, hold on and love them for as long as we can. Our past loves are secure in that special place in our lives and in our hearts. That can never be taken from us, and we are so grateful to have had them for a little while.
It is going to be a sad period in your life, but I hope you can remember that sweet boy as he was, not that last day that will be forever etched in your mind. He would not want that, he loves you too much for the memories you carry of him to bring you pain. You know by now that time is the only thing that truly helps. That and the comforting words from friends who want to offer you whatever help they can. My heart truly breaks for your pain, I know it too well.
Take care of yourself margecat, you and that beautiful little girl. I pray you find the comfort you need to bring peace from your family and your friends, the bond you have with Loki will be with you for eternity........RIP precious Loki, the love you brought to this family will be forever etched onto their memories and their hearts. Sounds like Loki had a great life with you to the extent that he had nothing to worry about because his universe (you and your home) were safe enough for him, he couldn't have asked for more.
