I saw this question on a website and thought it would be fun for us as cat lovers.
What crazy things do you do to appease your cat?

When my cat follows me into the bathroom, I turn the water on in the sink so she can get a drink. I've always said " Come on " when I turn off the water. So now she gets down and comes out when she hears that. :cutecat:

Gosh where do I start ? I'm at her beck and call !!! Every morning she likes to sit on the window sill so I have to pull blinds up a little so she has a good view - she has just started making a noise when she wants this done. It's not great as we are in a ground floor flat so passers by may be able to see me if I'm still in bed!!! I also have to keep the door open if having a bath as she likes to walk around the edge and try and scoop my toes out above the bubbles. She also likes watching me on the toilet so again I leave the door open !!! I have no privacy to appease her

:yeah: I feed mine all on separate plates in the AM so each gets their fair share. 5 plates! Then I have to wash them because I am not going to throw away 5 styrofoam plates at once. They sit there now until they get their own plate. They eat at different times in the eve, so it is not an issue then. Burt, my going on seventeen year old, insists on drinking out of the RO spigot, so every morning he is drinking at the sink. I am just amazed he can still jump up on the counter.

What don't we do for Carleton, lol? He has a slipper fettish and likes to sleep on our slippers. We leave them in the family room where he sleeps on them to his heart's content. :cloud9: He has his favorite spot on the family room sofa so we always leave it open for him and he also has his favorite spot on our bed, usually my husband's pillow when he gets up to use the bathroom.

I don't do much of anything "special" for mine. They all have their favourite flavours, of course, and I oblige them with canned food three times a day in a varying menu, and they do all like different treats... Moo Shu, Lance and White Tip like fowl - braised chicken or thick cut deli turkey, or pheasant when available; Friday, Clawed-Ya and Peanut like seafood treats - shrimp or a little lump crabmeat; Puff, Oz and Bob prefer roast beef (also thick sliced from the deli, or "leftovers") and Scottiecat likes poached egg and gravy-laden treats (our grocery store keeps roast beef jus on hand thankfully).

Of course, many of the windowsills have been widened and topped with carpeted cat perches, and there are rugs near the heaters and fireplace in Winter. The house is now set up as seven heating zones, so that they can have the sunporch, second floor hallway and the windows in two guest bedrooms open in Winter to listen to the birds in nice warm spaces, and I do keep birdfeeders filled outside the windows on the north side of the house, so the cats are always entertained.

They have playtime as often as they seem to wish, and playmates galore, of course. I grow catnip in the main garden through Autumn, and then root cuttings for Winter to be grown under sodium lamps in the basement. They have their own sofas and upholstered chairs, and tables placed at strategic locations to watch the squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs, foxes, deer and raccoons as they amble through the property. Their veterinarian is a close Friend, and so they're all seen regularly, and stay in fine fettle. They have countless toys which are rotated into and out of a toy chest, so they're never bored, of course, but that notwithstanding, they don't require much beyond daily combing and brushing, and changing their litterboxes twice a week, and so they really don't need anything "special."

Well, I did build a four bedroom home on the estate for my last two ferals, but they're destined to come into the main house within the next few weeks, and then it will be a delightful guest house. Not that any "guests" would actually visit anyone with ten cats, of course....

I have just given up trying to have a shower on my own. Raistlin seemed to be fine with me closing the door of the bathroom whenever I wanted to have a shower, but Freya isn't at all and she will demostrare It by yelling like a dying crazy cat :argh:until I open it, risking my physical integrity on the process of walking out of the shower totally soaked.
This week she started to enter the shower even when there is water running. She is a bengal, soiIt wouldn't be surprising except that she doesn't seem to like water at all (she complains a lot about getting wet) but dislikes even more not being pet when she demands it. She is not too clever, I guess:headscratch:

Noodles gets the bathtub faucet set to drip so she can chase the drops as they fall. She used to do that a lot as a kitten and young cat but she's taken it up again in recent months. When I'm giving my kids their bath/showers she comes in and sits and waits for me to be done.

Mooch gets lap time every night. No matter how tired I am; I sit on the couch and she gets up in my lap for her snuggles. I love it too though. :catrub:

Waking up at 6am on the dot no matter the day to first, brush princess until she feels she is beautiful, two get the wet food out and mix it nicely in with her dry, clean the box and tidey up her little area.
Holding her like a baby when she's upset or just feeling clingy, always sitting with my legs cross crossed with a pillow on top so that she can be in my lap and still lay even.
Coming to my bedroom even when I don't want to be in there just so she can be near me but not too far from her baby.
Belly rubs after she eats so she doesn't get an upset tummy. Surrendering every single stray piece of yarn or string I might come across.
And overall, just being at her beck and call. I love her more than any cat I've ever owned. I love Miss Kitty dearly but she has taken to my brother since day one, so to have a cat who I know loves me the most of anyone just makes you want to do whatever they ask of you. That's probably part of their little game ;)

mightyboosh mightyboosh - This site desperately needs an AntiPurraise Button. Bob just read your, "duck fillets," remark, thank you very much NOT.

:yelling:

I'll bet Oliver would really enjoy some nice Jamón Ibérico. Alejandra Rico Alejandra Rico will back me up on this - cats love ham as a snack, and La Tienda has it on sale right now, Oliver:

Reserva Jamon Iberico de Bellota Ham by Fermin

.
That is a big YES. We have one at home and Freya gets crazy whenever she sees me doing anything around it.
If she could say in Spanish "cut me some ham" she would hahaha. As she can't, she just purrrrrrrrrs :cutecat:

Oh, my! I just clicked the link out of curiosity and found out the price! It would be cheaper if you flew to Spain and back to buy it yourself
I can't understand how do they justify that price :fireblob:

Four years' aging does push the price up, just as it does with cheese that's been caved for ten years or more. I don't think the price is really "justified" so much as that the companies who cater to gourmands and to great restaurants understand that they can ask ridiculous prices and will always find a small crazy customer base.

Is it that much "better?" I think it's more a matter of degrees. A top of the line suit made by Anderson and Sheppard still finishes at under 6,000£, and yet there are people who'll pay twice that for Italian suits which aren't even entirely bespoke, simply because of product branding. if you can create the perception for a small client base that your product is worth the cost, you've already won the game.

I buy Chicquitita all kinds of toys, but the only one she likes is the ball that treats come out of when she rolls it around.

I bought her a bed warming pad, but she doesn't lay on it. She prefers to be under a bed. :frustrated:

I had a pet door installed, but she waits for me to open the patio door. Funny thing is she'll come in through the pet door.

I got her a cat tree, and guess what? Nope..... she loves it! In chilly weather she can be outside, laying inside the tube-

shaped part, all nice and cozy.

* Look up the word PICKY in the dictionary and you'll see  *
