My wife and I found three few-day-old kittens two weeks ago, birthed from a stray mother (who is pretty friendly and from whom we have two yearlings). There's clearly a high probability of worms, but they're currently too young for any kind of medication. One of the males (whom we have named Asher) is displaying some odd colouration around the aperture of his anus. The vet's closed on Sundays, and since it doesn't seem to discomfort him (normal levels of activity, fairly normal stool, albeit more liquid than solid), we didn't think it necessary to take him in to the ER. We thought, however, that it would be smart to crowd-source an analysis and possible prognosis, to at least have an idea of what is going on.

I uploaded two pictures to Imgur, an image-hosting website. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

If you can get Panacur they can be wormed for the first time right now, so long as they are otherwise well.  From a website in the UK selling it:
Panacur contains Fenbendazole and is suitable for both cats and dogs, including unweaned puppies and kittens from two weeks of age. Repeat worming at 5, 8 and 12 weeks of age
The inference is worm at 2, 5, 8 and 12 weeks of age.  I would use Milbemax over Panacur at 8 weeks and skip the 12-week worming, but do Milbemax again at 3 months.

Panacur is effective against roundworms which is the worm that gives kittens problems.  Milbemax is effective against tapeworm as well, but I believe isn't available in the US.

Since the mother is friendly the best thing you can do for her is get her neutered.

Another preparate, used in the same circumstances, is the common in Sweden preparate Banminth. Known as mild for kittens. Banminth is made by the international corporation Pfizer, so I suspect it is sold in other countries too. Anyway, the active substance is Pyrantel(embonat),   and I understand preparate containing Pyrantel are possible to get in USA too, probably even prescription free.

Our experienced forumit Catwoman707 mentions it often, it seems she buys it in an online apothece /chemist you know what I mean.   I got the impression her telling the preparate even is called Pyrantel...

Can be used both for high preg, lactacing moms, and kittens above 2 weeks.
