My 7 month old kitten, Salem, has been having issues walking. I noticed him walking stiffly & sitting down more about a week and a half ago. His appetite was off also, I assume from being in pain. The vet examined him last Monday & took an xray, which didn’t show anything. She did say he tensed...
The playpen is too big unfortunately & doesn’t give much. I thought about it lol. That’s my problem-I’m impatient & want her to love me right away. It’s a whole different world with a feral kitten. It actually makes me feel better that you’re telling me 4 days is nothing. I just have to be patient.
Hoping to get some advice regarding a feral kitten I recently rescued. It had appeared by my office so I had been leaving food & water out. Seems to be maybe 8-10 weeks old, not really sure. I trapped him/her (still don't know what it is lol) about 4 days ago. I have had kittens over the...
Your story sounds very much like what I’m dealing with. My 12 yo cat Sylvester had 11 teeth extracted on Tuesday due to resorption. I was sent home with the Buprenex syringes. When he first came home I was surprised how well he was doing-he wanted to eat & was maybe a little out of it from the...
Thanks so much for the prayers. I’m hoping the fluid analysis gives me something to work with. Like if it’s cancer, then I know. I was told the needle biopsy isn’t very accurate compared to a regular biopsy, and even then it might be inconclusive. She’s had xrays, blood work & tests so I’m just...
Thanks. We’re keeping her on the kidney diet, but when she’s fussy I sometimes give her other food to get her eating. I think smaller meals are better too. She doesn’t usually wolf down her food, but will go back to it during the day. During the week I always leave food out since I’m not here...
Hi, thanks for your response! I have tried the liver supplements-both otc & prescription. I feel the same way - if I find something on a biopsy, what can I do really. I’m going to see what the fluid test says & maybe it’ll give me some direction.
Thank you for your response. Yes, I have searched for similar issues & found some info. I am actually giving her lactulose because she of course also has constipation issues, so that’s supposed to help both issues.
It’s interesting how a lot of diseases are very similar in humans & pets...

Hi, I haven’t been on this forum in awhile, but I remember how helpful it was with my cats previously. I recently lost my 17-1/2 year old tortie, Squeak, who spent 2 nights at an emergency hospital & ultimately passed away there the morning after Christmas :sniffle: – her lab numbers were...
I live in PA and it has been colder here - today it's below 0 lol. But she always seems to be cold. I know most cats like to sit where it's warm - the radiator or dvr - and she's always snuggling up right next to me. So I don't know if it could be related to that or not. I guess it's possible.
She had a cyst-like lump on her side about 8 years ago. We had monitored it & it started to get larger, so the vet removed it along with a large section of surrounding tissue. The lump came back as cancerous, but it didn’t spread at all. Sorry I forgot the exact term for what kind of cancer it was.
I’m having a few recent issues with my girl Bootsie-curious if anyone has any ideas. She has an underlying heart issue & has been on Atenenol for about 6 months. She had blood work done in August & everything was good. Very recently she’s been overly hungry & wanting to eat her sister’s wet...
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with Fresh Step litter - regular clay (not clumping). . . A few months ago I switched from Tidy Cat Multi Cat litter, which I have used for many years with no issues, as my CRF kitty needed a more absorbent litter. The last few bags have...
