I Want To Do The Right Thing

Since my last post, Flower continued to grow weaker. She was scheduled for a follow up visit to her doctor, and my husband and I made the painful decision to ler her go there. She spent her final day with a morning walk (although short and careful), and then spent the rest of the day sleeping...

I Want To Do The Right Thing

Thank you. I really do not want her final hours to be at the vet feeling scared and unsafe. She hates going and I don't want that to be the last place she experiences before she leaves us.

I Want To Do The Right Thing

Without going into great detail about Flower, I know she is on her way out. She is very weak and wobbles a little when she walks, but is still interested in exploring outside, she does not seem to be in pain and purrs when I pet her. She hasn't eaten any meaningful amount of food for several...

    Chronic Uri

OH my goodness, he is beautiful! What is the method of delivery for Azithromycin and how often? I know it's different for every cat but my Flowercat is very hard to pill. I thought I had read it comes in a cherry flavored liquid. I'm so happy for you and Houdini. It breaks my heart to think...

    Chronic Uri

Wow, both of your cases Steph and honigkatze, are so similar to my Flower. She has been very congested for months now. She tested negative for all the common viruses. The stuff they flushed out of her nose was thick, white and mucousy and her sinuses were very inflamed. She felt better for...

    Primalix Immune

Thanks mrsgreenjeens =) I read from the links you suggested and I don't think she has been tested for any bacterial infections at this point. We have a biopsy scheduled for next month. My vet advised we had to wait until the depo/covenia runs its course so that test results are not affected...

Questions On Declawing And Why It's Inhumane

You might try double sided tape on places you don't want them scratching. Cats hate sticky stuff on their paws. I don't think there is anything else I could say to discourage you that hasn't already been said. Please don't do it.

    Primalix Immune

She's had a chronic respiratory illness for the last 5 months. She is currently on Depo/Covenia and lysine. Someone I know recommended this product to help give her immune system a boost. She'll being going back to the vet next month for a biopsy of her sinuses and a second nasal flushing.

Chronically Sick Kitty - Any Thoughts Or Ideas Appreciated

Thanks. I spoke to my vet today. We're going to try another nasal flush and biopsy in about a month. Because Flower is currently on a round of Depo/Covenia, we cannot do it sooner than that. I just need to try and keep her symptoms under control as much as possible until then. I appreciate...

My cat won't eat his wet food anymore!

You may try ordering some FortiFlora. You can get it from Amazon. It's a probiotic powder that comes in individual packets, like sugar. You can sprinkle a little on top of the wet or dry food, like seasoning. Cats generally love the taste. If your cat is refusing the food, it might be...

Chronically Sick Kitty - Any Thoughts Or Ideas Appreciated

Thanks, stephenq... I thought that's what the vet was going to do when they did her nasal flush. They don't need to biopsy the tissue for a culture, do they? They can just test the mucous?

Chronically Sick Kitty - Any Thoughts Or Ideas Appreciated

Thanks for the kind wishes. Flower is still feeling pretty bad. She is only barely eating but at least she is eating some. The vet wants to biopsy her sinus tissue and do another saline flush in a month, after the depo/covenia wears off. He says being on these drugs could cause problems with...

Has Anyone Ever Tried A Baby Nose Aspirator On Their Stuffy Cat?

I saw one video on YouTube of a man who does this on his cat and she didn't seem to mind and almost looked like she liked it. Anyone here ever try? I'm trying to get creative in helping my little girl breathe easier. Check it out!

    Mirtazapine Users?

1/4 pill was a little much for my cat. Made here eat like crazy and it was just weird. I reduced it to an 1/8 every 72 hours or as needed and it's been working great for some time, but now it seems less effective than it was when we first started her on it.
