Help! Adopted Cat Is a Terror and a Bad Pet

I wished posters would read the bulk of the OP before replying. I've owned many cats over the years. There is nothing physically wrong with the cat. She does everything a normal cat does. No odd behaviors. BTW, I'm an all animal lover and have volunteered in animal rescue for over 20 years. I...

Help! Adopted Cat Is a Terror and a Bad Pet

Nothing going on health-wise. She has her own room, and the ability to roam the house as she pleases...

Help! Adopted Cat Is a Terror and a Bad Pet

She had a perfect physical 4 months ago. She uses the box, and as stated in the post, she is the bully. That is, she is not ambushed by anyone. She defecates in the litter box in addition to the kitchen floor. She is in no pain during these events.

Help! Adopted Cat Is a Terror and a Bad Pet

My wife has an acquaintance whom she calls a friend. This person is a habitual drunk and substance abuser. She is funded by her well-to-do mother and owns several dogs. Over a year ago, she persuaded my wife to adopt her 10yr old cat, named Mini, whom apparently was raised with dogs and makes...

Please Help: Cat Doesn't Enter Warm Cat House

We bought an enclosed cat house for our indoor, 9yr old short-hair Siamese mix, but she refuses to go inside. However, our latest rescue uses it quite often, even though her much furrier coat doesn't require it. We're inland SoCal and don't use heating often and our little short hair appears to...

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

I apologize. I meant this post to be cute. There is no cause for alarm. Babycat is fine and well. I shouldn't have used the term lethargic. And, yes, I know her best and she appears to be so comfy and warm sleeping and napping through this cool & rainy spell that her timeclock for mealtimes has...

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

The photo is deceptive. She (Bella aka The Babycat) is a short-haired cat and not at all furry. Her counterparts, however, are big balls of fur...

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

I'm not familiar with these items. Our animals are fed home-made food, 3 small portions per day, hand spooned into each of three bowls/dishes, by a human entity.

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

Greetings from SoCal! The Eastern Sierra is my favorite place to be in CA! I agree about the seeking of warmth and conserving energy, I do it too...

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

It's wintertime in SoCal so we're getting into the 50s! We're currently having the wettest spell we've seen. But, of course, we'll be in emergency drought conditions with water rationing come summer...

Magical Pink Sweater has Transformed Our Cat!

Our 8 year-old small siamese hybrid received a pink cable-knit sweater for Christmas and it has magically transformed her behavior. This is the first piece of apparel she has ever worn. How so, did she change, you may ask? 1) She has transformed into a bonafide lap-cat. In fact, my elbows are...

Questions About My Cat’s Recent Passing That Continue to Plague Me :-(

Thank you. My vet is wonderful and a true gift to the field and the animal kingdom. About the music, I will give it a go- Both Mia and Bella aka The Babycat (now 7yrs old) love music. Babycat prefers classical, while Booboo preferred Jazz. I'm gonna try the classical harp stuff for starters...

Questions About My Cat’s Recent Passing That Continue to Plague Me :-(

I just received the text message from our veterinarian that has given me some peace: "I don’t think you did anything wrong. It was possibly a cardiac arrest. Hyperthyroidism causes a great amount of strain to the cardiac muscles. These patients have a continuous very-high heart rate..."

Questions About My Cat’s Recent Passing That Continue to Plague Me :-(

Yes, it's truly heartbreaking. Years back I fostered and eventually adopted two siblings. They were indoor/outdoor cats and when the sister (Tweethart) passed, brother Tommy would get atop the patio roof every evening just before sunset to scan the backyard looking for her. It went on for about...
