It's funny that you mention this because I LITERALLY just got off the phone with the vet about her bloodwork. Since she might need more testing, they're prescribing her gabapentin to take before she has to come in. Fingers crossed that that takes the edge off.

Just an update: as of today, they're playing with each other happily. I think our resident cat can get irritated at the kitten but the initial aggression and fear seems to be gone. And they sound like a herd of elephants.

Thanks for the advice everyone. We got in touch with the vet this morning and worked out a plan. And, thankfully, she is nearly 100% back to normal today - whizzing around our house and nearly no belly. Never thought I’d be so relieved for her to be a pain in the butt!
