Uh-oh, black stools can be indicative of upper GI bleeding. If Ritz has been having issues since October - and if they're related to excess stomach acid - it's possible that she has developed ulcers.

Looking back at your previous posts, it's unclear to me whether or not you've tried dosing Ritz with Pepcid. It sounded like you weren't too keen on the idea of using a drug, but if she is experiencing excess acid, it certainly could help.

Just wondering if you've got an update on Ritz. Hope things are better!

Have you tried using gel caps? Pilling my guy has become almost a non-issue since I discovered gel caps. I don't know why vets don't recommend them straightaway.
