Our cat is very confident. He loves and is very good at catching things like flies and moths. During the day he is very cuddly and always wants attention. However at night he gets into a total hyper mood and starts jumping about sniffing everything. He has a flap where he gets access to our huge...
My cat is super friendly too but has a thing for attacking toes and I don't know why. It's like he doesn't realise they are are a part of my body. He doesn't hiss though.
My cat is very verbal and does the same. In my case it's either because he wants food, to go outside, attention, or he is just in the hunting mood.
He also seems to get hyper when he needs the pee as he is fussy about his litter tray.
But my cat was never timid. Has always been confident.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have been thinking the same thing. Our cat had a brother who died a few months ago. He is 2 years old and thinking about getting another one. I think you have weight up the pros and cons. For instance for me,
Cons:
Additional expensive and time (an extra litter...
Yeah that's why I said it was the "worst case". When any pet starts to affect your wellbeing, you need to make difficult decisions.
From what I understand the OP lives in an open apartment so restrictions in terms of rooms might be limited.
Thanks
The problem I find with these articles is that they are talking about the dangers of overfeeding whereas I am worried about starving my cat.
The article says the vet is the best person to help yet my vet says my cat is a healthy weight and this has been over a month after feeding him the...
We don't feed dry food because his brother died from bladder problems but I guess I could mix wet with dry.
We feed 3 pouches a day which according to the packet is enough.
We don't leave dry out because last time I did it, it eat it all within 2 minutes so fast it made him sick.
We feed our cat pouches at regular times (morning, early evening when get home from work & before bed) however sometimes he just seems to get really hungry. He usually tries to steal what we are eating and we have to put him in another room. He normally gets the message and stops bothering us...
The "study" does not provide many conclusions:
A 1995 study conducted by the National Companion Animal Study concluded that oral disease was the most common feline ailment.20 Could this be due to the commercial food they consume? In his book, Variations and Diseases of the Teeth of Animals...
It doesn't convince me. This article refers to a 70 year old study quoted in a book written by a proponent of raw food.
I don't do a raw food diet. Why?
1. For me it is expensive and time consuming
2. While it is true that cats can get ill for any food, raw food carries their own risk
3.Most...
My advice,
When you go to bed close the door and don't let the cat in. They will learn it is your sleep time. They might scrat and meow for a few weeks but will stop when they realise they won't get in. Mine has his own cat bed in a separate room and will go there and sleep.
It seems like the big problem here is the noises the cat makes (even with door shut) keeps you awake. I agree there is no real solution. Worst case you may have to rehome and I would go for an older cat next time. Our cat is noisy but I live in a house and just shut my door and let him play...
I only give my cat wet food now due to another cat of mine having bladder problems and them not drinking much water. We mix a little bit of water in with the wet food.
To be honest mine does this after he eats the wet food. We did change brands and this current brand (Whiskas) seems to be a bit...
We have just moved house and recently saw two cats enter our garden. We are cat lovers so went out to greet them and they ran away very quickly. I thought therefore they might be ferals. Yet I saw the same cat in a neighbours garden a few days ago and again he/she looked scared. I haven't been...
