Auto Litter Box Training Tips Needed

Yes, thank you - I should have mentioned that I've already done that. Should I remove now the one remaining litter box?

Auto Litter Box Training Tips Needed

Hi, we have four cats ranging from a 1yo to 12yo adults. We have five regular clumping litter boxes and now just purchased two auto litter boxes. We're having difficulty with getting them to use the two new auto litter boxes and would like some ideas. They've been in place now for about ten days...

Cat is licking the hair off his paw

Turns out it is a bacteria in his ear that is now being treated with an antibiotic and ear drops. It totally presented as ear mites. We gave him gabapentin to calm him down prior to the trip. He's now back and resting comfortably. The doctor thinks there was possibly an open wound on his paw...

Cat is licking the hair off his paw

Xavier's about 8yo now. I haven't seen any signs of him having difficulty walking or any other symptoms that might lead me to believe there's some kind of physical pain. He also had hip surgery a few years ago that I forgot to mention previously, and although he hasn't had any physical pain...

Cat is licking the hair off his paw

I should add that Xavier is an indoor cat and I've checked for fleas or other parasites. I've read a few blog posts on this already, and know it could be any number of possible causes. Where do I start? Perhaps with a spray or some lemon juice or something to prevent licking the spot itself...

Cat is licking the hair off his paw

Hi, I happened to notice this morning that Xavier is licking his paw incessantly to the point where he's licked the hair off of it. It doesn't look infected, and it doesn't appear to be sensitive to the touch, or otherwise really bother him, but what could be going on?

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

I don't really have any reason to believe my cats aren't already calm. Would you send me information/research that shows the correlation between cats peeing on the rug and not being calm?

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

So since I last wrote, we determined that Havoc does not have a UTI and have purchased another litter box to store in the half-bath upstairs. We're finding that the cats are using the litter box upstairs most often, while the other four in the basement are used less often. We're also working...

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

You believe it's a UTI, or do you have some other likely diagnosis? The cats all continue to use the existing liter boxes regularly....

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

Okay, I will do that now. We'll also set one up in the half-bath upstairs. Yes, I agree that's still a problem. I'm going to look for a professional to come and clean it. There are actually two bedrooms upstairs, and it's possible the other is affected, but there's enough stuff around the...

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

No, and I don't think that's an issue because when the doors are closed, they don't go anywhere else besides the litter boxes. Yes, I should have mentioned they're all indoor-only cats and have all been neutered. They also get along. There's a younger cat who may be more aggressive than the...

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

I should have mentioned that I really don't want to add a litter box upstairs. There's only a half-bath up there, so there really isn't the room for it. It also adds a whole other level to the chore. We can close the door, but I should have also mentioned that we really want to avoid that. It's...

    Adult Cats With Carpet/urine Problem

Hi, we have four adult cats, the youngest being about three, and at least one of them is urinating on the carpet upstairs in a spare bedroom. I'd like to find a way to keep them from peeing up there, and also how to be sure I've eliminated the existing urine completely. It appeared to be around...

Thanks all for the great ideas.  Mystic is still doing okay. Here's a picture of Mystic from a few weeks ago.
