Zoe had a cold, so she wasn't eating her dry food, so I put her on wet food, which I warmed for her so itd stink more. That worked, but I'd like to put her back on dry food. The problem is she throws a tantrum, jumping up and thumping the door if dry food is in the bowl.
Any tips for coaxing...
I could almost swear she doesn't eat unless I'm around, and often she'll sit by the bowl just staring at it, until I wiggle my fingers over the bowl and say 'Boogity boogity, boogity! Eat your food.'
And, voila, she eats.
I'm not sure which one of us is the weirdo.
Whenever I open the front door, Zoe scampers off. At the moment, she's hiding in the kitchen because I opened the front door an hour ago.
Anyone else's cats do this? Anyone have any success in reducing this apparent fear?
Here's a pic of Zoe staring at me after the vet.
Zoe doesn't sleep with me, I usually find her on the couch on a plushy blanket I folder up there for her. She has come and slept on my chest during a nap once, though.
Well, it's been a week, and so I took Zoe to the vet. She hollered the whole way there, then growled at the vet, and was mad at me afterward for holding her still while vet took her temp. She had a slight fever, viral infection. Doc said it was like a cold for cats. Got some pills for the fever...
