Let me start this post by saying I love my little psycho so much but I’m so frustrated.
Our cat has always been difficult. We got him as an adult from a shelter and he’s always had anxiety to an extent which presented itself in occasional inappropriate spraying inside and outside and some...
Hi thanks for the reply.
He is 12 and he is neutered. We have recently moved and there are cats around which has increased the problem behaviour but it has definitely always been a problem. He has been checked for a UTI and we have Feliway going 24/7.
I feel like he isn’t himself since being on...
Our cat has been on Prozac for about a month. At first he was spraying inside less and we thought it was working well but now he is back to constantly spray peeing everywhere.
Has anyone had positive or negative experiences with this they can share? Unsure whether to give up or increase the dose.
He is 4. We are in Australia so no rabies required. He doesn’t NEED the vaccine by law but he won’t be accepted into any cattery when we go on holidays unless he has it. Or a titre test proving he is immune as an alternative.
I think I will just take him somewhere that Titre tests - I’ll call...
He is neutered and has been so since before we got him.
Even the vet said that not letting him outside seemed to cause incredible anxiety in him. We now now let him out only an hour a day and he gets into a fight almost every time! It’s maddening.
My cat got a reaction to the live 3 in 1 vaccination last time and slept for almost 48 hours. He couldn’t be roused. The vet made the decision that he shouldn’t be vaccinated the following year. He had a Titre test and they decided against vaccination as he was fully protected.
I’ve now moved...
Could be cat acne. Our cat gets it from time to time. We use an oat shampoo to wash it and then gently wipe it away. When it gets bad we can a soothing anti inflammatory ointment as well.
We have an 11 year old cat called Cappy. He’s very loving and full of personality but ever since we adopted him at 7 he’s been a bit problematic.
He spray pees all the time even inside. He pees on the bath mat every day. He beats up our poor other cat who is very sweet all the time (but this...
I am really feeling for you and your poor cat :(
If there was some improvement after the last hospital stay is there some way you can figure out why that was? Presumably she was on fluids and maybe some kind of anti inflammatory?
Thanks. Link was diagnosed with a murmur about a year ago but he’d been particularly sick with another issue so the vet said to follow up later. At the time they just said it was mild. I was hoping it was stress related.
I followed up today but at a different vet as The first one was a...
Could you try just asking for a generic medication for parasites? My cat had bad diarrhea and we lived in the outback where testing was expensive and took a long time. Vet just took a guess at it and the medication helped a lot. Sometimes I think it’s worth just giving some broad spectrum...
Our little cat has a heart murmur - no symptoms and vet thinks we should watch it but we are thinking of getting him an echocardiogram from a cardiologist?
Has anyone gone down this path? What should I expect?
I should add that they refused to give him antibiotics because they were afraid it would ‘mask’ the cause in their tests. The fluids and anti inflammatories meant his fever went down but it always spiked back up until we treated the cause.
