Hi all,
I'm looking to get a brush that is better at collecting my cats' loose fur, and in particular one that will be good for a medium-length coat (with fur that is fairly fine) because my med-hair cat has a tendency to have big hairballs.
I've been looking into slicker brushes and am...
Thank you -- that is a helpful rule of thumb to know about. It makes sense that it's safer to err on the side of less as opposed to more than the intended dose. I think I may still touch base with my vet tomorrow about the timing of the next dose to clarify what's best, as I know with the pred...
Yes, it's a very small amount -- I was surprised at first too, when my vet gave the instructions. It's a 50mg/ml concentration so that is why it's such a small volume. Which has worked against me in this situation, because even a drop or two missed can be a substantial portion! Unfortunately lol
Hi all, prednisolone question. I give my cat liquid pred, and he currently gets 0.1ml every second day (in the process of tapering down).
Tonight, he jerked his head at just the right time and the syringe came out of his mouth as I was administering it. Some of the pred dripped onto his...
Thank you for sharing! My cat also gets sneezy and watery eyes so I think allergies are a facto. I actually bought an air purifier a couple months ago as well -- just a little one, but it's portable and my apartment is pretty small. It does seem to help some! The not opening doors/windows is...
Thanks for sharing! The grass seed does sound promising. Out of curiosity, have you ever had any issues with your cat trying to eat the litter? My other cat really likes eating grass usually, but I'm not sure if the seed appeals to cats in a similar way.
The main symptoms I noticed were: breathing becoming wheezy at times (sometimes after play, or sometimes just during a time of year when things tend to flare up for her, like spring); recurring congestion; sometimes a kind of cough that sounds like she's trying to clear mucus. I've never seen...
Thank you for sharing your experience! I hadn't heard of that litter before, so I'll definitely look into it. The okocat tracks quite a bit too, so at least it wouldn't exactly be a downgrade in that regard haha
Thank you for the response! Yes, that is a good point that the most important thing is to watch how she is reacting. So far I haven't noticed an increased reaction associated with the litter; however, it is a bit hard to tell for sure as I'd been paying more attention to the larger breathing...
I decided to turn to the hive-mind here for another question that has arisen for me. One of my cats was recently diagnosed with asthma (thought the dx is recent, she has had breathing issues for a while; they just got chalked up to other things before now). I am trying to figure out whether the...
My 12 (almost 13) year old boy has chronic pancreatitis. It started last December, and when the symptoms first presented it was so scary (he stopped eating and would just lay in one spot not wanting to move; the poor little guy must have been in so much pain). I know how worrying it is, and how...
Thank you for the info! My vet suspects that IBD may be contributing to his pancreatitis flare-ups. But we don't have direct evidence of that because with the most recent bout of pancreatitis, she diagnosed based on blood work and his symptoms. He definitely deals with recurring pancreas...
