Anyone else on the Site have a Highland Lynx? Best suggestions for Exercise?

Hi Everybody!!  Thanks so much for all the responses. About the tails - the Highland Lynx cats I've known were all born with tails. Many some are born with short tails, I don't know.  Breeders dock them.  :( Docked definitely means cut off, so it's not a natural state. Holly Snow &...

My cat attacks the other in the cat box

Thanks, jcat.  It's a big open box, so she can see her escape route clearly. I'll have to see about a 2nd box.  I've never had this problem before with any of my cats, just with the Highland Lynx breed, so it's an adjustment.

Hahaha!  Funny!  She only walks upright when in search of bacon in the kitchen. Her bacon senses are very keen.  LOL!

My cat attacks the other in the cat box

Hi All, I read a number of earlier posts about litter box problems, but still have a question. So does each cat consider his litter box his personal territory?  And another cat using it an invader? My Siamese mix doesn't care if the other cat uses the box (I have one very large box for both...

Here you go, bigperm20, this is a funny pic showing her back feet.  Yup, 7 toes. I call them 'launching pads' because they are so big.

Hi Bigperm20,  Oops, sorry, it IS 5 in the front, but her rear feet do actually have 7 toes each.  They are MASSIVE. crazy looking, really.  I'll see if I can find a good pic of them to post.

Anyone else on the Site have a Highland Lynx? Best suggestions for Exercise?

Hi -aj-,  You know I have tried wand toys and she's destroyed them in short order.  I'll have to see if I can find some stronger ones.  She rips the feathers off in no time. Thanks, missymotus - I'll have to check out DaBird - haven;t heard of that one before. Hi Catspaw66 and Bigperm20 - She...

Anyone else on the Site have a Highland Lynx? Best suggestions for Exercise?

Hi RiccaDawn, yes, it is actually a newer breed.  I got her as a gift from a friend that is a breeder.  She's got 6 toes in the front and 7 toes in the rear.  Hence her name! Good luck with your new kitty!  I've had one other polydactyl cat that was a short hair mix. Love my kitties!

Aggressive cat, but I don't want to give him up. :(

Hi!  I'm glad you're looking for solutions before giving Haze up. I can tell you that when I adopted my siamese mix in 2004, she was immediately attached to me before I even brought her home.  When I did get her home she was livid to find out I had another cat and she had to share me.  That was...

Anyone else on the Site have a Highland Lynx? Best suggestions for Exercise?

Hi All, We seem to have people from all over on this site.  I'm wondering if anyone else has a Highland Lynx breed cat?  I LOVE this cat.  It's such a unique breed. She has a lot of characteristics like a dog (fetching, sleeping by my feet, running to the window to get the scoop on any possible...
