Comment by 'augie' in article 'How Long Can You Safely Keep Cat Food Out For?'

on "how long can you leave cat food out", some of the posters said they put leftover food in the fridge and then heated it in the microwave. i recently read you should not heat cat food (don't know about dog food) in the microwave because it kills the taurine and depletes the vitamins. best to...

astro's CRF oil and N-C scrub?

am sure you know you have to keep the astro's CRF oil in the fridge after opening. shake it very well before drawing the amount you need in the pip sent with the bottle. i put the bulb of the pip in warm water and swish it around for about 10 seconds to take the chill off. i give it to luke...

astro's CRF oil and N-C scrub?

thank you for your reply and starting a new thread. i am going to try the astro's oil and N-C scrub and closely monitor my cat. one of the things that bothers me about the azodyl is that they admit some cultures are already dead by the time the med reaches the vet due to shipping and handling...

astro's CRF oil and N-C scrub?

i came across the astro's CRF oil for cats and read on another link that you can buy the same ingredients - vitamin E and CoQ10 - cheaper and get more product. however, according to the website, those are not the only ingredients.  i'm wondering if anyone has used astro's oil and N-C scrub and...

    question about worms/parasites

yes, the dog does get a monthly heartworm med. i'll ask her to find out if it controls other worms as well. thx for that info. doing a thorough cleaning after every visit would be way too much work for me. if i were 20 years younger, maybe . . .

    question about worms/parasites

my catio is a screened in, tiled area that i can close the door while the dog is there. my fear is that the dog lives in the country where there are barn cats that poop "wherever" and the dog often eats the cat poop (yuk) and i'm sure she steps in it as well. she gets her monthly flea/tick med...

    question about worms/parasites

my friend frequently brings her dog to stay on my cats' catio (without the cats in it). if her dog were to have worms or parasites, could her dog transfer those somehow to my cats via having been in the catio?

    Reactions to Feliway

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=22274&rel=1 if you have room to set it up, i wonder if something like this would work for her while you're at work. big enough for a small litter box in one corner and food/water in opposite corner.

    Reactions to Feliway

one of my cats was licking the same place aggressively to the point she was getting bald. the vet said it's sometimes called "barbering". the vet gave her a steroid injection and it seems to have calmed whatever was bothering her.

    Dasuquin - cats hate it

the vet told me the same thing, has to be put into food, not given as a capsule. just mix it into the food (not sprinke on top) and they won't even notice it's there.

    Flavored Water?

i clean my cats' fountains (i have 3) every other day. it takes 5 mins each. also, since i clean the fountains so often, don't replace the filters but about every six months, i just thoroghly rinse the old one, so that saves money. if you don't clean the fountains often, you'll see a lot of hair...
