How to stop scratching at door

Yep I know the type you're talking about! And ha, I hope not. He hasn't screamed since he was about 8 months old, he just moved on to full time scratching lol. I hope he doesn't regress hahahaha

How to stop scratching at door

Also to clarify his food bowl is automatic but pretty much always full, and it is located outside of the bedroom so me keeping him out of the bedroom does not prevent him from accessing his food or his water, all his toys, all his scratchers, his cat tree, and the only window he can use to look...

How to stop scratching at door

Hey yall, just read through your responses. He always has dry food available and he receives his serving of wet food before bed. At the moment he sleeps in the bedroom and has for many months because when he was younger the scratching and screaming routine was unbearable. I mean it was...

How to stop scratching at door

I have a cat who is rather needy and always wakes up way earlier than I would like to. When he wakes up and I don't play with him, he starts jumping on things he shouldn't, knocking things down, etc so I put him out of my bedroom to try to get an hour or so of sleep. However within 5-10 minutes...

Knocks over bowl and takes apart fountain

Hi friend! Your response has been most helpful. I think I'll have to get a large container to at least make sure if he does tip over a fountain, it won't go on the wood flooring. I just don't want to deprive him of the fountain which has clearly made him so happy since we gave it to him. As for...

Knocks over bowl and takes apart fountain

Yeah, that could be an option! I just hoped I could find a fountain that was better put together since he seems so amused by running water. He's been genuinely enthused with the fountain and it seemed like I'd finally found a solution that we were both happy with, until he began taking it apart...

Knocks over bowl and takes apart fountain

Yes, the first type is what I meant by the self filling kind that he'd jump on and spill everywhere even when we attached a dumbell on it with zip ties lol. (Dumbell not attached in following pic, but you can see how big it was and it still didn't work!) The second is something I've never seen...

Knocks over bowl and takes apart fountain

My cat is fascinated by water, and we quickly learned that a bowl wasn't an option because he slides it around and knocks it over, making a mess. Then we got him one of those bowls with a self-filling tank thinking it would be heavy enough that he couldn't move it, but he moved that too even...

Obsessed with me and behaves worse when it's just us

Thank you for these articles. The night one in particular is helpful. I try ignoring him completely during the night yowls but I know sometimes I haven't, and I'm sure it sent the wrong message.

Obsessed with me and behaves worse when it's just us

I didn't really think about that, it's possible that he's having separation anxiety from my partner so that's why he acts better when he's around. However he also acts better when my mother is around, and he has no specific attachment to her.

Obsessed with me and behaves worse when it's just us

He is neutered and has been for some time. Getting a second cat is unfortunately not an option based off our rental agreement. I'm hoping this is just a kitten thing and not a forever thing, but I suspect he will always be ultra vocal. I can deal with that, but I can't deal with the night...

Obsessed with me and behaves worse when it's just us

I'm having trouble with my first cat. I have a partner but he works away from home so all but about 8 days a month, it's just me and my kitty. I was the one that adopted the cat from the rescue so he seems to have bonded completely with me. The problem is that when it's just us two, he behaves...
