He is estimated to be around 2 years old. I had him to the vet back in January because at that time he was regurgitating his food. We've since gotten that under control by feeding smaller portions and elevating food dishes. She took an x-ray of the esophagus and all looked normal. This is...
Hello dear friends, I'm still dealing with my male baby vomiting way too much. I recently started him on all sensitive stomach foods. He is currently eating Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach Dry and Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach Duck Wet food. The vomiting continues but he has only been on this food...
I had been using Lysine for my Persians for 20+ years. I recently had an Ophthalmologist appt for my Persian who has an eye issue and we got to talking about Lysine. She too said there were no large studies until recently, and the large study that was conducted showed there are no benefits to...
Wow, what a great bowl! He doesn't seem to gulp his food. I'll need to start watching him more closely on that though. Right now he's on strictly wet food. The vomiting was much worse when he was eating dry also. I do ration out the kibble every now and again, but a very small amount (like...
Hello All, I've been searching the forum on this topic before posting and have read up on it quite a bit. I adopted a kitty about 2 months ago and since I've had him he's been having a problem with regurgitating his food. When I first brought him home it was really bad, about 2 times every...
Thanks all for the great tips. It's nice to know I'm not alone, although wouldn't wish this on anyone, LOL. I've had cats my entire life and this is the first time I've encountered 2 not getting along so it's all new to me. They do have their separate play times and they will also play...
Thanks so much for your reply. They are both females, resident cat who you see pictured here is 7 years old, and the new cat is 6 years old. They are both spayed. I do have baby gates up double-high so they are able to see each other when the new one is in a separate room. I am currently...
I adopted a new cat a little over 2 months ago. I did everything by the book as far as proper introductions but so far my resident cat still will not accept the new cat (also female). After the "first" introduction they seemed okay (or so I thought), then one day the new cat attacked my...
Hello, how long did it take for them to get to this point? Did they ever fight initially? I'm struggling with introducing a new cat (well it's been 2 months now), to a resident cat and so far things are progressing very slowly, if at all... sigh
Hello Dear cat friends, this is my first time posting to the Behavior Forum as I've never encountered any behavior issues with my kitties until now. I adopted a cat about a month ago and already had one resident cat at home. I went thru the entire introduction process by the book, or so I...
That doesn't look good. It's in an odd spot. If it seems to be bothering her I would take her sooner. It looks like a large area. As somebody else said, usually these things are minor, sometimes called hot spots that don't heal if they keep messing with it. But I would definitely take her...
As someone else mentioned a culture needs to be done to see if it is ringworm for certain. The culture is typically watched for several days at the vet's to see if it grows/spreads. I've battled ringworm on and off my entire life because it likes my Persians. The only thing that ever worked...
I would definitely take her to the vet just to be sure. Sometimes when they are needy like that and meowing a lot it's because they aren't feeling well.
I can definitely see something there but it is hard to see the detail. I usually give things like that a week to 10 days to see if they resolve on their own and if not it's off to the vet. That's if it's not bothering her and she is acting normal.
